I’m just am stating a few things I see as being true

    -the F-35 is not invincible
-despite being the better aircraft, there will be times it would be shot down by a better pilot
-just as stealth is good and the next step forward, there will be ways to beat it in the future.you give someone a challenge and they will find a way.
-there are other ways to attack with tactics-think supply lines, force multipliers, air bases etc etc.

And Scoot, proclaiming there will be nothing better for 20 years…… we all know America will start planning a new fighter in 15 years:diablo:

The F-35 has better odds of surviving against an Advance Air Defense Network than even the F-22.

How? without the F-22 to handle the air domiance role, the F-35 will nead to handle Air Supremacy and SEAD? At the same time? that may work on a nation like Iraq or Yugoslavia, but to segregate the roles will mean twice the number of F-35s, meaning more tankers, AWACS, more logistics etc etc.

The F-35 is NOT the be all and end all. Just as the F-15 was the next the next thing from the F-4, and F-18F from the Tomcat, the F-35 is just the next progression, and in a proper shooting war, faces the same proportion of losses as would be suffered anyway

Mate, in Australia, if the government cut a vital capability, or the such(didn’t deploy reinforcements to afghanistan), and the Air Chief Marshal resigned because he thought it that important to the mission, we would have what ever it was he was requesting, and he would gain even more respect with the troops and public for having spine.

In Australia, we ASK the experts what they need and deliver it
In Britain, it seems you tell them what they need, and then get angry when they cant do it

LOL What a joke the F-35 will not need the F-22 to survive in the Future Battle Space of the coming years. Yet, the current 4.5 Generation will. I think you have things reversed.

    No.

Without the F-22, the F-35 will take higher casualties than with it, and a gainst a state of the art Air Defence network, casualties will be substantial, and at 100 million dollars each, an expensive game to play.

I also think it would be sad to see any cuts to the USMC- some of the best fighters the world has known, some of the best I’ve met. They breed em tough.

A disgusting waste, a good buy for someone(maybe us), and a great display of impotence. Shows how much the higher ranks in the RAF care about it and not the next promotion. Why no resignations over how criminal these cuts are and speak out? Such actions here would bring a reversal very bloody quickly

Never said the F-35 would never suffer a lost. Just that its Performance is only surpassed by the F-22.

    No, but some did:rolleyes:

It will be good, but in other countries service without the F-22 to sweep the skies, it will take high casualties

are we expecting top level stealth like F-22 or more realistic level like that of the B1B-ie smaller than a aircraft of that size would show on RADAR?

yes, thank you for those photos.
It is good to see a great aircraft given the send off it deserves.
