Ok, again, do we really think the F-35 is….invincible?

there WILL be scenarios where multiple numbers are shot down or destroyed

No doubt in my mind that the F-35C will be one of the best aircraft in the world, and it will probably perform well in war, but unless the the air is saturated in such numbers as to be unsustainable, losses WILL be sustained and in some instances, be substantial.

Against a well protected enemy area, with high end SAMs, AWACS and 4th Gen fighters in reasonable numbers, losses will be sustained.

    Vulnerabilities exist at

    -Refuelling
    -Landing
    -Take Off
    -Dogfighting
    -Bingo
-ammunition expended(in the case of large numbers)
    -laden with A2G weapons

the F-35 has the biggest fighter jet engine ever, which means it has a large IR source.

Now it is ridiculous to suggesta F-35 1 vs 1 at BVR against a 4th gen will lead to anything excepth the 4th Gens demise, It is also ridiculous to suggest the F-35 is going to sustain no losses- and at 100 million a copy, an expensive loss at that

You will, as long as you raise import tarriffs and stop cutting taxes to the rich!!!maybe combine ANG and AFRes.Savings by cutting a chain of command?
Retire&Selling Enterprisea good idea( Look good with an Aussie flag on it!)

Buy Boeing Tankers and more C-130J and tie high numbers of aircraft to jobs.

Look at streching the C-17 to help retire some C-5 bad players

Maybe make the Coast guard a part of your navy and call it the Home fleet, hand drug interdiction solely to customs

Question:Why do you think the USMC requested a STOVL F-18C?.

Answer: Because by asking for ridiculuos things they get to keep what they have?

Indeed. wont be long before they are cut, and all the savings made to keep them will be for nothing

Greed is a two edged sword, it can provide huge wins, and huge losses

Is KC-767 going to be its in service designation?

I love how the idea of defeating the F-35 with tactics meets no response…..

In the history of human endeavour that is aerial warfare, nothing is guaranteed. NVAF shoots down high numbers of advanced aircraft with obsolete planes, flak and SAMs, USAF uses better pilots to defeat MiG15s in Korea, Israel uses kinetic warfare to defeat forces of 5 nations etc etc

Fact is, you give a group of highly motivated people a challange, in defence of there country, and they will find ways to fight back.

An Advantage is only an advantage if used correctly

OK….. when an amraam is fired, and its internal radar comes on any aircraft witha RWR will know…..
and the F-35, depite what you say, is not INVISIBLE.

If a F-117 can be shot down with obsolete equipment, how about a proper defence net with AWACS and decent fighters?

Or the enemy denies you the opportunity to engage except when your about to depart the area on bingo?

Or decides to chuck 30 aircraft at your refueling point? numbers and tactics do have there advantages.
these ideas may or may not work. but not for an instant are the F-35s going to walk away like james bond, with a drink and woman in hand. some units WILL suffer losses.

Sounds like Boeing is shooting itself in the foot by looking dodgey.

despite my belief that the A330 MRTT is the better aircraft, I still think the KC767 should and will win

To be fair, your previous Labor government wasnt opposed either to using the razor(or to be rude to its citizens!)

does Britain need a Falklands type event to restore some justification for its Armed forces?

    Dear Mr Robben,

Please explain to us how the EF or the Rafale will get to the merge with the F-35. Why would the F-35 choose to merge with in the euro canards sensor range, when it can merge from the rear or take a side shot? How will the EF Rafale escape the 1st shot? even if you could out turn it, the stealth will ensure that the F-35 engages on favorable terms. How will the Legacy fighters detect the F-35 when they are out classed in every sensor area, including IRST?

i seem to recall a Luftwaffe tactic used by the F-4F crews before they had AMRAAM, where they wore the opposition down, forcing them to uselessly waste there shots, then knocking the opposition(F-15,16,18etc) off at close range, or when they bugged out.

A good aircraft isnt bulletproof against a wily opponent with abit of bravery and good tactics who refuses to let you engage in your preferred envelope!

having looked into the bays, why in hell are they decommissioning 1?

my point about training was that if we got her as stop gap, a bonus would be experience in large crew management/flightdeck ops, which of course you wouldnt buy it solely for those purposes!

Mate, its time to accept fate. Britain no longer has the will to project power anymore. Instead of ackmowledging tax cuts are stupid, and have caused a great financial crisis, Britain continues to cut its armed forces. do you really think you will get CVF anymore? nothing is sacred. there will be penalties to pay, but the savings of not paying through life operational cost+cancelled JSF=tax cuts so politicians stay in power longer:mad:

Until high ranking officials in the armed forces stand up and make them selves heard, very soon you will have no armed forces to speak of.
This goes for a number of nations who suffer losing vital capability due to this’the armed forces are a easy whipping boy’ including the UK, Belgium,Netherlands, Canada etc etc-exactly what we watched happen in New Zealand a decade ago

theres following orders, but sometimes you have to question bad orders higher up the chain of command-and let the superiors(ie citizens) make there wishes know.:(:o
