excellent find mate! most envious!interesting what you can get at places you wouldn’t expect. I myself found a de-activated 37mm AA round for 3 bucks!

:Britain has a history of either cutting aviationprojects that are well worth while, but perservering with programmes that dont make much sense and cost to much and the guise of ‘keeping jobs in Britain’

Anyway, my pick is the F-111:eek:

much bad mouthed for its early failures(not it fault), and retired too early.
Once developed though, one of the best strike/recon fighters ever:cool:

    some possible problems include-

FOD damaging lift fan, stealth skin, weapons bay
the F-35B being as advanced as it is would require maintenance beyond that an austere location can provide

the qualities needed for wartime use, narrows where it can be deployed, allowing potential sites to be mapped

I think its good for him to be in custody- If not, i dont see him seeing December next year- I mean the CIA does almost what it wants, and with a large section of the US happy to see him dead, something could happen.

But on what hes doing, He should be charged with assisting with treason in the US- he could have gone to the US and handed back the documents, publishing them leaves him guilty of assisting in treason.also possibly extortion(if something happens to me I’ll release more)

The 4 being looked after at the moment are the best players of the fleet, and include 2 RF-models, for contingeny activation upto july 2011, and as this is unlikely to be needed, it leaves it open for 1 or 2 too make it to Avalon.(provided it can be done for minimal cost)

    You’ve never tried Coopers Beers?

Whats your suggestion for getting the HRR into a place it needs to be without the old girls and a guaranteed safe landing?

No NO NO! todays test result was great planning- lull your enemy with a false sense of security, then hit him hard(I hope)!

I’m sure if we asked and desperately needed it Ark Royal cold be in service by Q32011. use it for three years and park it. I would not be surprised to find we could get a 1/3 of the crew from England with sponsored immigration, and a promise of less news about the Beckhams!

I’m not trying to scrap our future plans- It will benefit me awesomely! we digs could use some brand spankin luxury transport! But in all seriousness the costs to get the old girls right is starting to sound like it should be paid in zimbabwe dollars!

In Theory our water and rations should last 7-10 days, in practice water lasts about 4-5(hence my reference to 5 days). but we are looking at a bad capbility gap unless the problem solved.

and longterm we really should order another LHD, and 1-2 Bay style vessels (if our current operational tempos are maintained, which in all likeliness, they will!)

Chinooks and Ark royal better than nothing, especially in case of delays with our LHDs

sorry thought id made myself clear, I agree other countries cancelling wont cancel the aircraft.

I have difficulty seeing them operating from streches of road- if the heat problems are as advertised, it would be very expensive to train except from specially prepared sections- and these could be pre-targeted. also interested in upkeep of stealth and lift fan from roughfields being affordable for alot of nations

The only way forward with this is that the F-35B order would be cancelled by some countries, based on different needs or cost cutting or going to CATOBAR ops, like the UK
