It looks like they don’t have F-16’s. Pardon me.

Surely those MiG-27’s have laser designators built into them.

They probably work in tandem with spotters flying F-16’s.

People should note the version used over Vietnam was purpose-built to use against fighters. It was a poor logistical decision to stick with the AIM-4D. You could throw several AIM-9B’s at a target for each and every AIM-4D shot.

The whole reason the AIM-4D launch parameters were smaller was because it had a more expensive and complicated guidance system. The AIM-4’s cooled seeker had double the AIM-9B’s ability which translated to a 15-20% longer ranged lock. It longer seek time is nonsense, it took longer to lock targets because the weapons officer had to feed coolant before it could lock on at a useful standoff range. But it wasn’t like the plane wasn’t carrying enough for several tries and the coolant didn’t exactly stop doing its work the instant it was no longer being fed. Over cooling was known to impede the mecahnical parts of the AIM-4D seeker, so too much cooling was definitely detrimental to overall effectiveness. All the extra work to get AIM-4D in position to fire just had too mcuh of a price penalty when compared to AIM-9B.

Nothing in common between a Mirage F1 and a Mirage G.

Sure looks like the original Mirage G’s – the single engine prototypes – were an awful lot like an F1.

Nah, photoshop, paint sucks to work with 😛

That explains the smoothing of resized images you were using. I used printkey to snag resizes out of fast stone image viewer to make out similar “pages” by themes. I liked doing the deltas the best but it took two complete pages at the same scale you were using. I plan on doing more – strategic bombers, tactical bombers, fighter-bombers, carrier-borne, swept wings, low chords, etc. – in the future. I feel the pain of late nights, as its hard to stop in the middle of a job like that!!

You forgot that the Mirage G and Mirage G#’s were different. The G model was single engined and all G#’s were twin engined. Ultimately the high cost of running twin engines doomed the program.

Been up all night with various stuff and wouldn’t let myself go to sleep till this was done, its 13:54 and I’m off to bed… Night all 😉

Excellent. I see you are crazy to undertake such mindnumbing work!! Has to be the single biggest collection of such work to date. Curious, are you building this thing in mspaint?

Yeah, looks like I may have added it incorrectly, will fix for next revision.
    Any other addition requests?

Some of the original jet fighters would be nice; like the Gloster Meteor, F-86 Sabre, and Suud Vatour II. Maybe add an English Electric/BAe Lightning F.6, BAe Caberra, Mirage G8, XB-70 Valkyrie, F-101C Voodoo, Yak-28 Firebar, Tu-16 Badger, Tupolev Tu-28P/128 Fiddler, Tu-144 Charger/BAC Concorde and Tu-160 Blackjack, too. Just creating a second file wouldn’t be so bad for comparison sakes – would save you alot of time.

Because it would drive any man insane to do – I won’t hold my breath on some other pretty planes: McDonnell F-85 Goblin, North American A-5 Vigilante, Lockheed YF-23 Black Widow II, Northrop F-20 Tigershark, MiG-17 Fresco, Republic RF-84F Thunderflash, Northrop F-89 Scorpion, F-94 Starfire, KM Caspian Sea Monster/Lun Ekranoplan, Boeing B-29 Superfortress/Tu-4 Bull, North American B-45 Tornado, Boeing B-47 Stratojet, Northrop YB-49/XB-35 Flying Wing, Sukhoi Su-9/11 Fishpot, McDonnell F3H Demon, Douglas F4D Skyray, Grumman F9F Panther/Cougar, Northrop F-17 Cobra, North American P-51 Mustang, North American F-82 Twin Mustang, Republic F-84G Thunderjet, Lockheed P-3D Orion, Lockheed F-94/F-97 Starfire, de Havilland D.H.100 Vampire/D.H.112 Venom, Hawker Hunter, Folland Gnat, Supermarine Swift, BAC TSR.2, Saab J.29 Tunnan, Saab J.32 Lansen, Fiat G.91, Vickers Valiant, Vickers Vulcan B.2, Douglas A-1 Skyraider, AIDC Ching-Kuo, and General Dynamics F-16XL. Now a list with all that would be a real treat.
