Re pic in post 1383. Both aircraft look pretty identical but from two different angles. Notice the canopy angles.
Tornado could pursue targets at low altitude speeds no other fighter could reach with a combat load. At least it got that right.
I always thought Tornado ADV was worthy of protecting vast tracks of glacial wasteland. Canada and Iceland would have been good places for it. Maybe even Australia. But then again F-14 or F-15 would have been even better. 🙂
F-15E gives you more load per flight, F-16DJ gives you more launch points. You save one F-16DJ flight hour per F-15E trip, but the F-15E persists on station longer.
No Iran means ISIS problem compounds, not gets solved. Talk less about your ideas of politics on Syria and let’s get back to facts on the ground.
Marcellogo the Russian statements about not being directly involved doesn’t preclude them using mercs and volunteer troops.
Probably has to do with need. It’s an extra bit to carry, not a pound of it for the ground.
Just as Russian troops are not in the Ukraine.
Saying F-35 isn’t more suited to the needs of NATO is pure ignorance. F-35A suits the needs of its partners. F-35B suits the needs of its partners. F-35C was never meant for export but augments the partners. Rafale is a beautiful design, but it’s two steps behind.
BarnesW, this forum has no appetite for your racist reviewing of modern civilizations. Thx in advance to keep the focus on the topic of this thread.
I see nothing racist or provocative in his posts. It was filled with facts AFAICS.
Iran would import Su-35 not Su-30M. I would bet logistics before toys.
If you look at the original the stripes are in pairs.
They look identical save for paint.
Frontal area? Think F4J or F4M…
It was an experimental aircraft so no requirement for bottle shape area ruling.
They put some form of applique insulation over this one, probably to curb IR emissions.
