LUCKY, LUCKY me, whilst waiting for the better half outside Costco in Victoria today IT flew over 3 times at around 1500-2000 feet.
Gear was up and the Merlins sounded real sweet. Glad I didn’t need anything from the store.

Really great shots. Wish mine from a couple of years ago were half as good.

Very nice to see Pacific Western in the air again. Always enjoyed flying with them.

Re post 980, this aircraft is now restored to former glory and on display at the BC Aviation Museum at Victoria International Airport ( aka Pat Bay aerodrome)

A bit of a blast from the past, but over on this side of the pond we used to have an RCAF team called the Golden Hawks flying Canadair Sabres painted gold.
Still remember the noise and smoke. Not forgetting the RCAF Snowbirds which is now the display team. They put on wonderful shows. Actually it is nice that we can now
    call it the RCAF again.

    Abotsford airshow

    Two episodes come to mind
    1. late 60’s if my memory serves seeing the Vulcan at Abbotsford BC doing a full 360 turn inside the field perimeter. The ground shook.
    2. almost a tragedy but luck was with evryone. Had a RCAF Voodoo in my binoculars when it flew through a flock of birds while entering a pull-up an cutting in the afterburner. Started a slow roll to the right, canopy blew off and both crew came out sideways, then a HUGE ball of fire. Crew were okay, one with very slight burns to the legs and probably quite soiled undies.
After talking to a RCAF member later that day I was called to the accident inquest. All very official.

Hi, when I try to view the video I get a messgae that “the uploader has not given permission to view in the country I am in” (Canada) or something to that effect.
Never seen this before. Is it a TOP SECRET vidie?

    Thanks

Thank you, now that it’s pointed out and I look with a different perspective I see where I was confused. Must get the MK 1 eyeballs tested.

    Thanks again

    the Canso

The Canso at around 4:07 looks to be the one near Tofino on Vancouver Island. Crashed on take off sometime in ’44 I think. Have to look up the RCAF numbers.
