The following is a letter printed in The Times on 23/8 from a Mr Alistair Scott,Uddingston, S Lanarks………..
“Sir,Ofcom is to be commended for it’s stance on smoking in Tom and Jerry.
Having dealt with this scourge of the cartoon world,i urge it to turn it’s attention to an even greater evil: the Acme Corporation.For too long,this irresponsible company has supplied gullible cartoon animals with rocket-propelled sleds,giant fireworks and what can only be described as Heath-Robinson contraptions of doom.No after-sales support or training is evident and the purchase of such items invariably leads the unsuspecting Wile E. Coyote exploding in midair or falling several miles over a cliff.
I can think of no better use of public funds.”
