Apart from the pronunciation of the letter aitch,which started this ball rolling,my number 2 is the pronunciation of the smallest coin in the UK,the humble Penny.On the back of the coin it tells you exactly what it is – ONE PENNY.Therefor,if you have 101 of these little fellas in your pocket,you have the princely sum of a Pound and a Penny.Not a Pound and a Pence.Pence is plural,meaning more than one!
