Nice idea, I’ll go along with that.
Sounds like a hoot to me too. Love your new sig, btw, very…clever
[I So we should’t tar them all with the same brush.[/I]
Aye, that’d be nice. As a relatively young person, and someone who is perhaps a little too in tune with their inner teenager, I know it’s pretty unpleasant to be labelled the same kind of hooligan perpetuated by the current “chav culture” – not all people of my age/generation are as horrid and brutish as they are, and I’ve actually known a good few people younger than myself who were perfectly well-mannered and intelligent.
Like most things, the minority get slammed for the actions of the majority.

As we are all individuals there is no standard to judge normal by.
Yay! I’m a famous philosopher!

I was always kinda partial to the Draken, myself – sleek, cool, slightly different and a little bit mean-looking. I want one of those 😀
Sam Raimi cuts loose on Marvel’s greatest (in my opinion!) superhero with dazzling special effects, decent performances all round and some memorable set-pieces.
The first took me a while to like, but I do like it, even though I have certain hang-ups about the design of the Green Goblin’s mask (he looks like an f’ing Power Ranger! ). Decent enough.
The second film carries on right where the first left off (and handily recaps the events of the first in a stunning comic book-style montage over the title sequence). From the off, I loved the second film, it was just simply stunning in my opinion. The conflict between Peter Parker and his alter-ego was an interesting one (should he lead the life of a hero, or an ordinary Joe?) and was certainly momentous. The villain, Doc Ock, was surprisingly humane and sympathetic – I actually felt sorry for him by the time the ending came about.
The third film… was kind of a let-down. So much build-up about the character Venom being a villain in the film, yet he doesn’t make an appearance until the last half-hour or so. And the Sandman? We’d already had the sympathetic villain in the previous installment, and I simply didn’t feel sorry for the criminal trying to provide for his terminally ill child – sorry!
Still, a decent few hours’ worth of escapist entertainment!
Daz rating:
Spider-Man: :):):):)
Spider-Man 2: :D:D:D:D:D
Spider-Man 3: :):):)
Spider-man 3 was just a huge suck-fest, I’m afraid. It was a monumental let-down, because Venom was one of my all-time favourite bad guys from the series and they made such a hash of him. Also, too many bad guys spoil the plot.
Now, if they could have introduced Venom near the end of 2, and made 3 the Carnage plot….THAT would have been a grand film!

Caught The Haunting in Connecticut on On Demand the other night with the lady, absolutely terrifying! Effects were brilliant, excellent camera work, acting was top notch. Loved it all, including the scares!

Visiting my mother with my partner of 4 years and my children, when we don’t see her often. And yet, despite her barely-concealed ill-feeling towards my partner, she still decides to huff and sigh and glare and scowl at me over the way I discipline my son. That and the fact that she barely says two words to me ALL DAY. Face like thunder? Whole bleedin’ weather system, more like.

:D:D Looney.
Yup. And you wouldn’t have it any other way 😀
Oh, and welcome back!
Pondskater – Don’t mind at all, I was getting a tad irked by the weird picture-posting system on this forum. Thing is, I’ve added those tags and it still isn’t working, so I’m at a loss.
And thanks for re-kindling this thread – I thought everyone had lost interest!
