Crazymainer, this is a really good question.. one i posted in another thread before reading this. As stated, we know why Sally-B and others can’t carry passengers but I would like to know why an excemption can’t be made for some of these very special aircraft, especially those on the brink of extinction or sale such as in the Sally-B’s case (or was a couple of yrs ago)?

Talking of flights guys, would’nt it be great if the Sally B could do the same? Would certainly help out her financial situation.. Though the CAA won’t allow it I think.

Thanks Ron. I missed those shots on page 4 first time round… very sad sight indeed. well documented by B-17 man though.. these should be in a book as I’ve never seen any this good in my yrs of studying the forts! So people can see what was sacrifised to make that film… a beautiful rare aircraft. Makes your heart ache looking at them though. Has always bothered me why not more of the a/c could have been saved/stopped from burning. Where were the fire tenders?

In light of these photos has anyone got or know of any pics of F-BEEA’s destruction? I think i’ve only seen one over the yrs.. on the web page ‘Memphis Belle- 10 years on’. Any ideas?
