Pretty neat, but Ocean and Osumi use Diesels 🙂

Updated all of the Large-deck Amphibs this evening (including Osumi and Dokdo) to more specific propulsion data. Will do the carriers tomorrow night. Also added the INS Vikrant (the new ADS that started building in April).

    Again, thanks for the input.

Great site. Thanks. Any info on the ADS being built by India?

INS Vikrant (1st ADS), which started building in April 2005, is now up on the site. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Thanks… for the compliment about the site. As to the INS, I will check for sure.

Yep…another thing to be fixed this weekend…but that’s alright. Thanks for the input! I am going through all of the engine data and trying to list manufacture, type, etc. rather than the general blurb there now.

Also,if you can; you could put some info on other embarked units such as Marines. An update for your page on the British HMS Ocean;Permanently embarked on HMS Ocean is a Royal Marines Landing craft unit,9 Assault Squadron Royal Marines. They have a secondary role of ship duties including fire fighting, bridge watchkeeping & security.

I will add that to the HMS Ocean’s description…thanks.

Nice & informative. But there are quite a few spelling mistakes in the articles & the only main fault is the lack of information on embarked aircraft.

Thanks. Good critique. I wanted to focus on the carrier vessels themselves. I simply do not have the time to do a thorough work on all of the various embarked airwings and will have to leave that for someone else. I can however, devote enough time to keep up the information on the carrier vessels themselves.

I am working on the typos and mis-spells. Those are stricktly my bads.

Great site, keep up the good work 🙂

Thank you. Lots of work. I wanted to have a site where all the carriers were in one place and easy to navigate. I intend to keep it current and up to date.

That’s a pretty nice website you have going there.

Thanks. I hope it is both informative and enjoyable to browse. I will be trying to keep it up to date and current.

INS Virrat is most definately a CV and not a CVH

I do not believe the Viraat operates true fixed wing aircraft anymore. Just the Harriers. Thus the designation…which I agree could be CVL and will make that change.

the Invincible class are officially CVL’s not CVH’s, same again for the Italian carriers and the Spanish carrier

Agreed and will make those updates.

but the Strategic Protection Ship is not a carrier, it’s an LPH with a Harrier capability

The Spanish themselves have indicated that one of its principle role will be the aviation role…with the significant Amphib role included as a principle role too. Thus the designation I chose, which I will change to CVL.

Having said all that, are there plans to expand this data base to include other ships of the line?

Thanks a lot. The site is meant to be focused principally on the Carriers, with the large-deck amphibs as a secondary. No plans (or time) to go into all combatants.

    Very nice site….

    Thanks a lot.

I will be keeping it up to date. Just added the Spanish Strategic Projection carrier on the main page tonight…it started building in May.

I also decided to add the USS San Antonio class LPDs on the large-deck Amphib page…probablu have them up later tonight.
