Check out this CD with over 1,200 photos of the G-10 restorations
Hello,
There are over 1,200 printable Hi-res photos on the Restorations Illustrated Me-109 CD. You can see it here at
http://www.buffiesbest.com/me109_cd.html
I even got pictures of the bird while still in the Yugoslavian markings!
(you can read the reviews by following the link)
Hope it helps those that like the nuts-n-bolts approach to photo documentation.
Cheers,
Derek

Hi guys (and gals) – in terms of the TTT “Zeros”, IIRC the US film team went to much greater efforts to replicate the Zero’s, Vals and Kates. In a couple shots of the Japanese sets it appears that the Taxan type aircraft were simply painted a camo – one shot even shows the wings folded on one ala Kate style, yet the fuselage is clearly Texan in configuration. Not sure if they had the budget for the aircraft that the US crew had – but I suspect they spent most of their set budgets on that incredible life-size battleship and carrier!
TTT is one of those shows that no matter what I am watching or doing, if I channel surf and catch just a portion of this movie, I am stuck watching the whole thing until it is over!

Thanks BlueNoser352!
You will not be disappointed!
The next volume will cover the P-51 Mustang and include restorations of an A model, numerous D models, and an H model – and will also have some cool photos of Enforcers as well. As will the other series – I’d love to hear from museums and restoration outfits that would care to share their photos, as well as from modelers so I can have more killer built-ups showcased. If there are any former P-51 pilots willing to share their stories and photos, I’d love to hear from you as well. Perhaps another reunion visit for 2005? Time has a way of stealing our heros, and my ‘mission’ is to honor those that flew and worked on these amazing airplanes.
Cheers!
A nut damaged a B-52 in Denver
Some nut-job climbed onto the nose of a staic B-52 at the Wings over the Rockies Air Museum in Denver, dumped a can of gas on the old bird and lit it up.
Did a bunch of damage ($300,000 or so) to the cockpit area – and also burned himself IIRC.

I think the courts ruled he was truly bonkers.

Your right on Mark
You are right on Mark!
I have been taking pictures of the restorations of Vintage for over 10 years now.
From the Wildcat, 3 P-51’s (two D’s and an H), Spitfire, Me-109’s, DC-10, P-38, and now the Zero.
Those guys do absolutely amazing work!
Derek
I have the complete box set with the viewmaster and all the reels. Very cool and pretty amazing when you think of training 65 years ago vs on todays simulators.
