Buckinghamshire Police have thwarted a plot to rob Cilla Black’s house whilst her funeral was underway.

It seems a shame that Buckinghamshire Police aren’t more tolerant towards these scouser traditions.

The ‘die glock’ stuff is the tip of a very dodgy iceberg. Nazi mysticism, as well as wild fantasies of Nazi occultism and the development of forbidden technologies (etc, ad nauseum) gets into pretty bad territory fairly quickly. For one thing it perpetuates the myth that the Nazis were weeks away from anti gravity/atomic weapon/massive bomber technology at the end of the war. Part of these Nazi conspiracy theories read like really warped pro-Nazi literature, and some of it is so far off the deep end it boggles the mind. I once found a thread on a conspiracy forum whereby various posters claimed that the basement of the town hall in Celle had been used for bizarre occult experiments that involved grafting the heads of one creature onto another, or onto a human, or whatever. Said basements were apparently flooded, then concreted over.

Strictly speaking no but they certainly have similarities! The Lisunov Li-2 was the Soviet DC-3 and the Il-12 was developed to replace it but had engine problems and was superseded by the Il-14.

I find it difficult, given the supposed size of the thing, for a giant primate or hominid to be inhabiting the forests of North America without a little bit more tangible evidence. The habitat needed to support a colony of these creatures is massive, so I would expect there to be more footprints, fur, skulls and other items to be found. I think pareidolia plays a big part in most sightings, if I’m honest. The history of shysters trotting out bogus artifacts to try and make a quick buck off the back of Big Foot also doesn’t help. my concern is that the Sasquatch movement (for want of a better word) drops off the deep end into seriously crazy territory pretty quickly. Sasquatch can shape shift, communicate telepathically, render itself invisible of necessary and yet is some kind, benign caretaker of the woods? Hard to grasp for me.

After all that, it does seem uncanny that vaguely similar phenomena appear in different cultures around the world.

Many of you can and do agonise over the use of an incorrect (historically) bolt , shade of paint ,style of lettering on a restored item , details of historical events, names of people ,and their exploits. This is highly commendable – accuracy is paramount if history is to truly reflect the past.

I don’t consider it that commendable. Such autistic nit-picking really only serves to appease other autistic nit-pickers, and often manifests itself as laughably blinkered views. Vulcan To The Sky have done a good job, but they used the wrong paint… 99% of people that saw the Vulcan fly this season will not have cared a jot, but they will have brought a lot of money into the aviation scene.

I can accept that some of you see PC as all-important…..some are just terrified of causing offence…and Moggy (as the Mod ) just wishes to avoid controversy in the ranks- although his methods could be better thought out…

Again, there is that whiney victim complex coming through. Who on this forum sees political correctness as all important? This is the sort of dull, over-simplified narrative I would expect from Daily Mail columnists. I’ve never seen any individual anywhere say directly that they are upholding a standard of political correctness.
