    What and get a free chip on my shoulder?

    Chips come free with the Mars bars. Chips on shoulders seems a somewhat ironic concept in a UKIP thread. :eagerness:

    I was under the impression that they were bringing out legislation to this effect, earlier this year.
    So far the only place other than Lidl or Aldi (who already charge) I have found who charge for bags, seems to be B&Q.

    Come to Scotland!

    I might be wrong, but from your comment;

    There is so much I would like to say on this subject, but I’m sure it would attract numerous posts from people who
    suffer from genuine ailments (…)

    …tends to suggest that you would like to make such a post but you are worried that somebody somewhere might not hold the same opinion. Your choice of wording ‘genuine ailments’ suggests that there are less-than-genuine ailments being talked about somewhere, which I logically deduce to be the article on eating disorders.

    Tell me I’m wrong!

    So you, in your professional medical opinion, consider eating disorders to be fictitious?

    I’m always amused by the number of gun advocates who are clearly overweight and unhealthy (ignoring the obvious low IQ, distinct lack of intellectual curiosity and paucity of emotional intelligence as these are, after all, low hanging fruit when talking about the US gun crowd). I’m not convinced these fine upstanding citizens will be the quickest to draw their weapons in a shootout when they have 70% body fat.

    This video shows that most tired of tropes; Americans advocating personal freedom by sticking staunchly to collectivist principles. Freedom apparently means having ‘operation Rambo’ simmering in the back of your mind at all times incase some ‘hood rat’ decides to invade your hardboard bungalow. Yippee ki yay!

    Sounds like she was selflessly helping you with a bit of gardening, unless ‘puning a bush’ has some sort of other meaning?

    A firearm is a tool…

    By that logic all joiners should be proudly displaying their Black & Deckers when they go out at night. Yes, at the most basic and/or academic level you can argue that a firearm is a tool, but to the crowd in your original link I think it means an awful lot more than that.

    As for chefs, the best ones do tend to err on the corpulent. :eagerness:

    All good points,but you would think the gun nuts would try and keep in good shape to go with their macho image no? Surely this is a mind and body lifestyle for them, getting to play the role of outlaw types that get to sit in a restaurant with a gun down at their hip having fought for this ‘freedom’?

    Added back? Why would you want them added back?

    The only thing I can remember about the points versus the course was that if ‘next time’ was within three years I couldn’t do a course and would have to take the points.

    By ‘added’ back I mean redacted, of course. :stupid:

    Time for a stupid question; can you get those three points added back, or do they reappear after a set length of time? Can you get a back to a clean licence eventually? The idea of sitting in a portakabin for hours with a group of middle aged ‘naughty boys’, car park brimming with BMWs of various types, being shown endless Powerpoint slides on stuff I already know, with a bit of morality-thru-shock-factor thrown in, does not sound like fun to me.

    I don’t see why a forum as small and as niche as this one requires anything above minimal moderation. Was this forum much busier in the past? Seems like there is fewer than twenty unique users on here on any given day. :confused:

    Nigel Farage defends use of word chinky.

    Amazing.

    Here are some of the responses fresh from the LBC radio Facebook page comments section, spelling and grammar preserved to underline just how thick these people are;

    Nigel’s right. People do still speak like that. I know I do and two of my mates are poofters. We often go out for a chinky and before you all get over excited my parents are paddys. I’m an East end boy and I’m sick of all this PC borlocks. 3…2…1……………

    Have u noticed Christmas Street Decorations no longer say ” Merry Christmas ” and have zero Christian references , your local council doesn’t want to offend anyone.

    This isn’t just an “East end” thing… It’s from all over.
    We’ve ALL become lazy speakers and abbreviate words without having ANY racist or nastiness implied.
    I’m Scottish… And I don’t mind being called a Scot but Heaven help us if we abbreviate Pakistani.
    My mother is Irish, father in Law Irish, mother in Law Italian… So often I’ve heard reference to Paddys and Tallys… But do they run to the PC Police??
    No…. As there is no offence meant.
    It’s about time someone came along and stuck up for the everyday person on the street who hasn’t caused any offence but it has been implied as some folk are so sensitive.

    Mental illness ? Really ? Well, that must be correct because the professionals say it is.

    I like to think of it as more an attitude – an attitude of mental self image and indulgence.

    Spoken like somebody with zero medical credentials. You honestly think eating disorders are the result of an ‘attitude’ of mental self image and indulgence? Lord help us all.

    I admire the tenacious attitude of stubborn old right whingers like yourself; where you regard professionals as being wrong because they express views that weren’t understood held 50+ years ago when you were receiving an education. For this reason you value your gut reaction over that of people who have actually carried out research in the field and actually have an education in the field. Is this a foregone conclusion of getting old? At what point do you stop learning and start to fall back on what you trust to be true, even in the shakiest of circumstances? Is there a clear line in the sand or a gradual fade between the two? You become an expert in every field based purely on conjecture and gut feeling? Sounds excellent, though it is a shame that nobody listens to old farts like yourself.
