Don’t try to sidetrack or plant ‘red herrings’.
You have that down to a fine art!
Is ‘General Discussion’ not enough for you? Three sycophantic mates (though one is in the hospital) and dysfunctional moderators. What more do you need?
#43 before writing anything read the bleeding article!
I did. It mentions it is a replica further down the page. The headline itself only implies a Spitfire crash landed. Given that it is RIAT season, and that there have been a number of Battle of Britain events in the last few weeks, the headline made me automatically assume that a real Spitfire had crashed and not some wee replica.
People get endlessly pissy on here if you open a thread called “Vulcan crash” rather than “1958 Syerston Avro Vulcan crash”, after all.
Don’t rise to it. John will never give you a solid, tangible, coherent or even especially convincing response. He will endlessly invoke logical fallacies. To give but one example, notice his retort earlier:
“I don’t think that we should extend into too much thread drift. My views on some aspects of education are well known”.
A simple practice; complain when the discussion goes off topic having first seeded the conversation with risible crap. If in doubt, pick apart the spelling or grammar of those trying to call you to task. This works even better when you make spelling and grammatical errors yourself, eh John?
Endless fun and quite readily catagorised as trolling.
Might just as well do a degree in flower arranging. It will have the same relevance to earning a living.
Tsk tsk. Back to ‘General Discussion’ with you!
The Daily Mail strike again!
Incredible moment pilot landed his Spitfire without any WHEELS during strong winds when his landing gear failed to release.
Looks a lot like one of those undersized replicas to me.
The surrounding land looks remarkably unscathed, so was it moved prior to this photo being taken? It would be interesting to try and identify the spot from the terrain in the background.
Have you heard Ms Black speak?

Cameron knew exactly what he was doing, and the SNP did exactly what he expected them to.
The whole thing had s0d all to do with foxes or hunting, and everything to do with seeing which way the SNP would jump when it came to voting on English laws.
The Tories have re-mastered the game of politics. Trust nothing. Everything is done for a reason.
Very cunning if correct. However nobody up here has noticed, apparently, as they are too busy watching that dull inauguration speech from Mhairi Black. the 20 year old Sports Science student that took Douglas Alexander’s seat.
She reminds me of some of my old PE Teachers.
“Ah’m here cos yous hae got hunners ae poor cunts usin’ they food banks ken?”

A brilliant gesture. Great work!
Yes, it’s really sad how nothing whatsoever is being purchased, restored or preserved in the UK nowadays.
Not the point I was making at all, but never mind. You seem to have a bee in your bonnet about this aircraft for reasons that are completely lost on me. Some other forumites dragged this discussion into Spitfire corner (figuratively) as well… still sure the Daniel is the one with the insecurities?
As I said before, “pics or it didn’t happen” is standard Internet parlance, yet you readily jump down the original posters’ throat because of your general ignorance.
On Internet forums, “pics or it didn’t happen” is a fairly standard comment made in response to anybody making a claim. It seems this facet of internet culture hasn’t reached keypublishing yet, but then again it seems nobody ever uses the ‘Reply with Quote’ function even though it is written in to the forum’s architecture, so I can see we are a little behind the times here.
Interesting to note that a number of recent threads have detailed either the purchase or restoration of historic airframes throughout the Commonwealth while we seem to be just a little bit more adept at scrapping aircraft here in Blighty. Perhaps a few forum posters should check their own shoulders for chips!
If the Scots want to do something useful start culling thousands of Deer that are wrecking their agriculture and forestry.
They are? I’m more concerned about the spread of lymes disease.

And now the bloody SNP are cynically using the vote to demonstrate their new-found ‘muscle’
That referendum result was an unmitigated disaster for England.
Then your lot shouldn’t have done such a good job of convincing us to stay in the union. :stupid:
In fairness, the SNP must be enjoying their muscle down South, as they are doing a dismal job up here. Hospital waiting times have increased under their rule and school attainment levels have gone down. The new centralised police force up here carry out stop-and-searches four times more frequently than the UK average but fail to report to a serious car crash, allowing two people to die as a result. The SNP’s firebrand ‘cybernat’ trolls are slowly turning in on themselves as well. Despite all of this the SNP claim, somehow, that all of this would be solved if Scotland was granted FFA, despite the abhorrent maths that littered the white paper.
No wonder Nippy was stuffing her face with Strawberries at Wimbledon this week… anything that happens down south is a nice distraction from the bickering up here. Scoring a point against the pro-hunting crowd will no doubt further fuel the anti-English mob.
