I suppose they probably would scale back operations if KLM broke the alliance. If Northwest joined Skyteam then certainly they would operate more in the way of flights to Europe via CDG instead.

From what I heard they were considering their own order of either the EMB 190, Airbus A319 or 737-800.

They should have kept the independent regional franchises rather than merging them into Citiexpress.

Flybe will up the capacity and frequency up of the JER route to 4x daily with a mix of Dash 8Q-400 and BAe 146s, I think this will also be the case for Belfast. Aurigny have also applied to operate the route from JER.

Where did you hear about the ex Buzz 737s?

This is getting interesting what with the Swiss rumours going around as well at the moment. Hopefully some news in the coming weeks on the fate of both airlines.

Just shows there is life after the BA cutbacks.

There are so many rumours going around at the moment that it is hard to know what to believe. Either way I believe British Airways would be a better fit for KLM as a European partner though to give up Northwest would leave them somewhat vulnerable because American could never give such a strategic alliance. But interesting time nonetheless. Wasn’t an announcement expected in September some time?

Then the Saturday flight must be the 737-800 and the Monday an A310. Now it is getting exciting to see which aircraft I will be on, either one is good 🙂

The likelihood is that those routes will be suspended for the winter along with other reductions in frequency though those three new destinations are being launched as well as rumours of flights from Prestwick.

Delta is a real cash cow though I guess they will milk all the publicity outa’ this. Couldn’t resist… 😉

In Vale, Guernsey the thermometer was reading around 32 in my garden. A bit cooler today because of a nice sea breeze. Yesterday official temperatures reached a very nice 34.3C, our highest temperature ever.

Tunisair seem to do quite a few charters to Europe compared to the UK. If you look at the schedules for Frankfurt as an example, there are flights to Tunis, Monastir, Djerba, Sfax etc and this is the same in most parts of continental Europe. However, the UK only has flights from Tunis to Heathrow, I suppose though that Nouvelair takes up that most of the charter work.

    Nice pictures anyway.
