    RE: I’m Back!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-08-02 AT 01:20 PM (GMT)]I’m glad you enjoyed your trip.
The new terminal was completed in 1997 and like you said is quite big.In the winter you think why thet built it so big,but in the summer with all the holiday flights, you can see why.The terminal is bright with the glass atrium and very modern plus the Alpha Tax free shopiing has some good items. The viewing area is very good, views of the stands and out to sea.The old M&S used to be up there, the only airport shop they ever had.
You probably saw the SATA International 737 from Funchal, which sometimes goes via here in Guernsey. The 737 is not the largest aircraft to be seen in Jersey.757s/A320s of numerous charter airlines also operate there, infact i’m actually going over there in October to see a few.
Fog is very common in Guernsey, the sun in August meant we got a lot in during the first couple of weeks of the summer.I remember one day it came in late afternoon and didn’t leave till the afternoon the next day.You probably saw the old shack, which is Guernsey’s terminal. Its very old but work has started on our new terminal. Should be ready next year..I can’t wait!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-08-02 AT 01:05 PM (GMT)]Thanks for that.I’m sure I saw them show plans of a new terminal though.I remember they showed Exeter airport on a special series they did looking at the regions airports, and the terminal looked very small and old!

RE: I’ll never forget that horrible day….

Well I remember pretty much everything that happened that day.Its one of those occasions where when you are asked “What were you doing?” you can remember everything.

Anyway,in the morning something that stood out was when on the discussion of war and peace,my teacher says “You are the luckiest generation, you have never seen war and you are probably the safest now than you will ever be” If only he knew what would happen in 4 hours or so.
It was the end of the school day and while walking down to the bus I heard people saying things about planes crashing.I was thinking probably just a movie, but I still was starting to think that something big had happened.
On the bus everybody seemed quiet and calm and so did everybody outside. When I got off the bus I walked much faster to my house as I wanted to find out what had happened. As I past a garage on the way, which had their radio on loud,I heard President Bush giving a speach at the school in Florida. From then on I knew that something big had happened, just what I didn’t know.
When I arrived home I flung my bag on the floor and turned the television on.Then I saw the terrible images,I couldn’t believe it.

MINIDOH or LukeEGTE,seeing that your from around the Exeter area,I wonder if you can tell me if anything is happening with the new terminal down there?I heard around a year back on BBC local news (Spotlight :9 ),that it had been given the go ahead.Since then i’ve heard nothing else.Has any work started or are they still in the planning stage?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-08-02 AT 04:47 PM (GMT)]At Exeter? It might be in BA c/s but that is because National Jet Italia was a BA Italian subsidiary.I think its just being stored. It is still marked as G-NJIB but its registration now is G-BSXZ and is now owned by Flightline.

G-BSXZ was its original registration, however, when the aircraft went to National Jet Italia its registration changed. Now its back in the UK and not with BA anymore, the registration was changed back.

RE: Name your five all time favourite songs!

    [updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-08-02 AT 04:22 PM (GMT)]1-New Order:Blue Monday
    2-Télépopmusik:Breathe
    3-Tori Amos:Cornflake Girl
    4-Lauren Hill:Everything Is Everything
    5-Frankie Goes To Hollywood:Two Tribes

    My music taste,in my opinion,is a little strange :7
I haven’t included many modern songs, which is what i’m in to now because my opinions will probably change on them.
A330Crazy,that song is Youssou N’Dour with Neneh Cherry.
