    RE: Airbus A340-600

Its a nice aircraft though to me it looks a bit flimsy and as if it has been stretched a bit to much.Great picture btw.

Yeah thats what I heard abut the AA A300 crash in New York, this is what that turbulance was caused by.
As the wings of the aircraft pass through the air, lift occurs when the high pressure under the wing tries to fill a vacuum of the low pressure on top of the wing. As a product of this lift, some air will circulate causing a rolling effect to take place behind the wingtips. What happens is two vortices (the left wing clockwise and the right wing counterclockwise as viewed from behind the airliner looking forward) develop and continue to spin until their energies are reduced. Most of the energy is within a few feet of the center of each vortex but pilots are should avoid a region within 100 feet of the vortex core. Airliners which are heavy give off the most intense vortices. If you ever wondered why sometimes it takes such a long time for an aircrft to take off it may be because of this wake turbulance effect.

    RE: ill

I normally feel ill on a flight over 2 hours,I get very bad stomach ache and my eyes feel very heavy and sting.I think its due to being stuck in a cramped chair and having to muchdrink before the flight as well as the food you get onboard,it is not exactley the nicest thing in the world…

LOL,I’ve always thought Virgin had a funner image than most airlines!Virgin are good at giving things out when things on their flights go wrong, when I travelled Virgin we weredelayed 4 hours so they gave an apology letter as well as 10% of our next Virgin flight!
    What was the food like?

I got mine today, the articles on Manston and Marseilles were very interesting. It was good to here about a french airport as I live so close to them (Rennes,Nantes ect) yet I am totaly baffled at what airlines operate in to them so this article on Marseilles was very interesting in my opinion.
One bad point is that (I am not)the A300/310 cockpit looks like an A320s to me?Am I right?

I would say its british T5 as:
1-Our chips are big and full of potatoe unlike the small measly chips you get in the US and France!
2-The curry sauce is not actually Indian infact nothing much that you get at an Indian is Indian cuisine at all!The only thing Indian about them is there names.Kabir do you get chicken vindaloo over there?

    RE: Air 2000

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-04-02 AT 08:18 AM (GMT)]Air 2000 aircraft will be repainted over the coming months, under the “First Choice” brand. It will retain the name of Air 2000 but they will adopt the colours from the First Choice Logo, with a pale blue tail with a bright pink flower on the tail. Interiors, product, uniform and tickets will follow.
Personally I can’t see the point of changing the liveries the one they have now looks good and modern though maybe they don’t want to be left out of the new charter airline craze-changing your colours scheme to something even worse than you had before!

    RE: Queen mother’s funeral

I watched the Queen Mothers funeral today also,I was truely amazd tthe number of people who watched in silence as the coffin was move to Westminister abbey and then on to Windsor. It made me proud to be British seeing everyone from youngsters to the elderly paying there respects to such a remarkable woman.May she rest in peace.
One thing for sure,Britain will never be the same again without her.
