RE: Airports!
Odviously GCI,up there nearly every weekend, stuff my friends! i would prefer the airport to the cinema ect any day. :7
Anyway this summer we are expecting it to be a bit more liverly, with British Europeans new 3 times a week service to LCY and new VLM i believe to Munich and maybe Nuremburg as last saturday we had a 737 charter in with german travelagents aboard coming for a conference on the islands tourism. We also have the new C.I airline Air-X Ltd operating the Trislanders.
RE: Share your airline (unpleasant) experiences
I’ve never had a bad experience when lying but i guess when i travelled BA to Orlando would be the worst.First of all the food was tasteless and watery and the the toilets absolutely stank of urine,i really felt sorry for the people who sat oposite them as the smell was so bad it could smelt a couple of rows back! 🙁
Anyway it was not that bad compared to others!
RE: Lockheed Electra:
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-02-02 AT 04:31 PM (GMT)]Channel Express operates 4 Electra’s.Another airline which i think operates the Electra is the Alaskan airline Reeve Aluetian who operate 3.
RE: BAC 1.11 trip
I was considering going on the EAC BAC 1.11 trip from Bournemouth, think its in march but i heard it was full so i can’t go.They also did a concorde flight for enthusiasts from Bournemouth to heathrow.
I am going to try and get a flight on an Airtours 757 at the JER airshow in september, you fly right along the bay where the airshow takes place, its looks fab!i heard they were allowing people to go in it this year so hopefully i might get a ticket!
RE: Only Three likely to survive in Europe?
In my opinion only around seven will actually be around in the future.Really its a case of to many airlines in europe. In the near future you will see more airlines collapsing, merging and being taken over. The horrble reality of even before september 11th is that certain carrier days were numered with overcapacity, recession fears and high fuel prices.Europe will be like the US-only six/seven major carriers rather than 30-40,its horrible to think of much loved carriers such as Iberia,Alitalia,SAS not exicisting in 10 or so years but it true that maybe the only survivors will be Lufthansa,Air France and Btritish Airways.
RE: Ryanair in Cornwall
Yes it great news for Newquay and especially the Cornish tourism industry which was hit hard with foot and mouth ect.But now due to the new tourist attractions such as the Eden project and the cornish maratime museum then maybe it will be a popular route.According to the southwest news last week it will be served with 2 flights a day.
One good thing with Newquay is that its runway is extremely long as it is situated at the RAF base St.Mawguen so it can take the larger aircraft.
I hope this is a success for Newquay and hopefully it might encourage other airlines to operate into there. At the moiment it’s only Brymon who operate there to Plymouth,Bristol and Gatwick with a Dash 8.Some airline called euroexpress were supossed to start operations between Alderney and Guernsey to Newquay a while back but that never took off.
RE: Lets see who guesses this!
Ok i was caught out!!!I found out were Kabir gets his pictures, they are at http://www.??????.com!!i got two of my photos put on there and just searched for a TU-154 and what do you know this picture was there and it said it was Balkan Bulgarian so i presumed it was them!!!
RE: Lets see who guesses this!
Its a TU-154 of Balkan Bulgarian Airlines.
RE: Pic Of The Day-03/02/02!!
Nice pic,i like the new Norwegian flag livery. Is it taken at Bergen?
RE: Airport pic of the day- 01/02/02
Yes they do,they operated 1 of them G-ZAPO,it was leased from Titan and is based at EDI.It flies GLA-BFS and EDI-BFS.Not sure if they operate it now,i think it as just until a 737 became avaliable.Theres a photo of it here: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=174429
RE: Rebranding of Swissair/Crossair.
Simple but nice, won’t cost as much to paint all the ex Swissair airaft in this livery. It reflects the swiss culture and quality as well, with all 4 of Switzerlands languages paited next to the logo-Schweiz(German), Suisse (French), Svizzera (Italian) and Svizra (Romanche).
Anyway this new airline has bigger problems than it livery! It is under immense pressure to perform well.According to a poll taken, only 7% of Swiss people believe the company had a very good chance of survival, not exactly confident.
RE: Airlines Schiphol
I was trying to see if you missed any but i can’t seem to find any!:7
RE: Airport picture of the day 31/01/02
Don’t mind you posting airport pic of the day,if anyone is going to do airport pic of the day just send me an email or something to tell me.
Gret pic’s of schiphol!
RE: Airport pic of the day-30/01/02
Thank you for pointing that out serendib,i had no idea that there were higher airports than 6000ft althought coming to think of it yes i remember hearing about that airport in Tibet.
Now maybe you should take this problem about this picture not being at an airport with Airliners.net as according to them this picture deserves to go under airport overviews.Personally i don’t think anyone (except you)cares if this not technically at an airport as it is a great picture and as long as it keeps people posting on the forum then i don’t give a damn!
GZYL yes it was Mt Mckinley.
Ryanair to start operating to Newquay!
Ryanair are to start operations to Newquay in Cornwall according to the southwest news. The flights will operate from Stansted and are expected to be only atround £19.Ryanair will ever operate one or two flights a day one of which will be an evening flight.
These flights will be in competition with Brymon who fly Newquay-Plymouth-Gatwick with a Dash 8.Ryanair will bring much needed buisness to the southwest after foot and mouth and the decline in british tourism. It is believed that Ryanai’rs flights will be succesful as Cornwall has become a much more popular tourism area with the opening of the Eden Prodject and the Cornish Mratime museum as well as other torist attractions.
Good news for the southwest!
