Damn, this zombie thread reminds me we haven’t seen Sean O’Connor in four years here. I miss his posts.

Off topic, what happened to SOC?

I was not so aware of SAAB J32 Lansen. It looks on par with Hawker Hunter

Mirage F1 with Martel and AS30; F-4E with HOBOS, Walleye, Maverick and GBUs were pretty much true multirole aircrafts on their time.

F-15A and F-14A was the state of art with superior airframes, avionics and engines. But it is like having F-22A during 2000s.. it is nice to have but logical to use F-teens

I think Hawker Hunter and F6 Skyray has fairly successful designs.

If it counts F100 and Super Mystere is also successful.

T129 is almost totally new attack helicopter, very little common with A129. Like F5A and F5E Tiger-II

    Any known F-104 air victory?

Turkish Airforce used both F-102A and various F-104s. Generally F-104s are more popular and liked more than 102s

Turkish F-16 fleet has some %91 availability where as new KT-1 trainer fleet has around %50 availability.

I think Active Radar Guided BVR Missiles can be slightly better than Semi Active Radar Guided BVR missile against modern aircraft.. Possible vulnerabilities:

    1. Jamming to main radar of fighter aircraft to stop track both missile/aircraft
    2. Jamming to mid-course update links
    3. Jamming to missile active radar in terminal phase
    4. Jamming to Link16 or similar system to prevent full usage of BVR missiles.

And it seems American teen series to be produced by the end of this decade. Then I think there will be fighter gap in global market if Americans dont fund alternative to F35. I think it is good oppurtunity for KF-X and TF-X projects.

It is quite early to talk about future foreign sales of both aircrafts. I belive European producer will boots their market presence with “stealthy” Eurofighter and Rafale derivatives; but Swedens has to stick with gripenNG at least 2-3 decade. But in the end Turkish TF-X can be easily sold to from MidEast to Mid Asian markets; where as KF-X/IF-X could dominate south-east Asia.

I think European aerospace industry powerful enough to market new competetive fighter aircrafts against up-coming “new generation” figters. But if you look back European UAV industry performance, there is a risk even with superior technologlical capabilities, to create useful solutions.

For USA, they will concantrate so called 6th generation fighters. I dont see any cheap alternative of F35.
