Actually Turkish Project is not fighter-trainer. Those are 2 seperate programme.

F-X: air-air oriented fighter; will be used with F16 and F35
    T-X: T38 replacement AJT

concept definition will be finalised at teh end of 2013. I think we will see how will them look like..

F-X will be stealth medium class fighter; which planend first flight in 2023.

Recent news from Turkey states that Swedish SAAB has chosen to support TAI’s future Turkish future F-X/T-X fighter-Trainer aircraft conceptual design phase.

Do you think future Swedish FS2025 and Turkish F-X can be unite as a single common programme?

For PW F135 Engine, Turkish firms KaleAero, Alp Aviation and TAI has agreements for producing parts; including titanium-nikel IBRs, maintain-repair-overhaul capability; and could be added final assembly, test..

So If Turkey joins KF-X; F135 could be logical choise cause there will be huge infrastructre for the engine.

So far from a little research:
    New build Mig29s:

    -Malaysia: 18 Mig-29N in 1995.
    -Yemen: 20 Mig29SMT from 2001
-Sudan: 12 Mig-29SE (ordered in 2002) and 12 Mig-29 (SE? or SMT?) ordered in 2008 (last batched in No:2 sq someone should check it)
    -N.Korea: 3 Mig-29S
    -Peru: 3 Mig-29SE in 1999
    -Myanmar: 10-12 Mig29B from 2002
    -Bangladesh: 8 Mig-29SE/UB
    -Russia: 34 Mig-29SMT (new build ex-Algerian)
-India: 16 Mig-29K (+29 on order) and those delivered 10 9.13/9.15 airframes in 1994 (not sure about new..)

So far around 156 new airframe delivered (except latest 29 Mig29K, Myanmar Mig29SMT, possible additional Bangladesh and Yemen orders)

From those 156 airframe between 60-90 (not sure) uncompleted airframes remaining before 1991; it can explain why some of Mig29s sold as low as 10 Million USD.

In the end it is interesting that Mig29 has been sold more than 150 airframe after coldwar; and didnt pay attenition as much as Swedish Gripen or JF-17.

Yemen: They received 4-10 Mig-29B from Moldovia around 1994 but they returned to Moldovia after civil war.

    In 2001 12 Mig29SE and 2003 8 Mig29SMT contract signed. Mig29SE upgraded to SMT standart.

In 2007 and 2009 and 2010 there were news Yemen will buy 30-32 Mig29SMT even claimed a contract signed; but there is no conformation.

North Korea recieved some new Mig-29S from Russia; as mentioned 3 could be logical.

Eritrea bought 8-10 Mig29 from Ukraine no new fighter.

Cuba hasn’t bought any new Mig29 since from 1989

Bangladesh started recieve 6 Mig29SE and 2 Mig29UB with contract 124 Million USD. These must be belong to re-build surplus airframe of Mig factories.

Myanmar started to recieve 8 Mig-29B and 2 Mig-29UB in 2002 with a price of 130 Million USD. (There is rumour about some additional Mig29 procurment in 2006; which imply wikipedia information about 12 Mig29 could be true). And now they are waiting for 20 new build Mig29SMT. So is it possible 10 Mig29B/UB from 2002 new aircraft?

Edit: Just recognised MSphere stated that Myanmar Mig29B/UB surplus airframes (new aircraft).

IrAF has 40-48 Mig29B; 21 from ex-Iraqi and those 40-48 aircrafts includes at least 7 Mig29UB. So at least 20 Mig29B has bought from Russia possibly second hand Mig-29B

Syria recieved in Soviet times between 46-60 Mig29B; and according to Janes some 20 ex-Russian Mig-29B in 2000-2001. There are rumours about 20 Mig-29M/M2 and around 20 Mig29SMT modernization.

So what I understand is if rumours false neither Iran or Syria didnt recieved new Mig29s between 1991-2011

    Also what about Algeria?

Between 1997-2001 Algeria bought 28 Mig-29 from Belarus and 8 from Russia (9.13 Mig29S); then they tried to exchange those with new 34 Mig29SMT/UBT. After 2 MigUBT and 15 Mig29SMT delivery Algerian Airforce rejected new aircrafts, and those aircrafts are now in Russian Hands.. So what I understand those ex-Belarus/Russian Mig-29S are still in service; and could be phased out with 2th package 16 SU-30MKA.

Also -nor sure about it- in 1991 Russian factories had around 60-70 non-completed Mig29S fuselage; and in 1991-2011 period they used the these fuselages for export.
