I have the “Original Uncut Version Digitally Remastered”. According to the back of it, it runs for “4hrs 42mins approx”.
If anyone has an interest in what life is like in a WW2 Submarine (either Allied or Axis), then I can recommend this film.
….Also ensure that you have surround sound for the full effect. With the speakers far enough apart, you can get the effect of the ships above moving from one side to the other
Could be some a nice way to help support the project in a way providing Corgi would donate a percentage for each sale.
It is one way to help as they need as much support from any angle.
Do any of the organisations who have their aircraft represented by a Corgi model get any financial support/donation from Corgi?
I think the Desoutter Aircraft Company was run by 2 Brothers
granted Hermes was involved in the falklands operation but that cannot compare to Trafalgar or North cape (or d day?)both critical engagements in this countries history.[/QUOTE]
I think her keel had been laid down by June 1944!!! She is what you call value for money. She has been at sea for 50 years.
If the UK Government play their cards right, then the Indian Navy will put her up for disposal at roughly the right time for them to buy back as a replacment for the Invincible class carriers currently in service!
Might I suggest that in future, if there is an accident like this that all that is posted is
a) there has been an accident
b) where it was
c) what it was
d) and that the crew are Ok or not as the case may be.
Then the thread is locked.
This will then eliminate any possible speculation which is unhelpful and possibly upsetting to anyone involved. It will also mean that there will not be a whole thread of “I’m sorry to hear that” and “I hope that everyone is OK”. I think it can be taken for granted that as Humans we are sorry these accidents happen and we hope that there is no injuries let alone lose of life.
I’d heard that the grass at Shuttleworth is the wrong shade of green.
I hope it is not the wrong type of grass as well
If you are going to get a train from Cambridge, then you need to change trains at Hitchin and catch northbound train on the Peterborough line. Biggleswade is the 2nd stop after Hitchin.
These are the Taxi Companies that operate in Biggleswade
AT Cars 01767 600399
Maurices 01767 316438
ACE 01767 651414
At least one of them has a minibus (I’ve seen it but can’t remember which company it was!!!). I would assume booking is essential for both journeys.
Oh dear!!
That evidence being a black and white photograph!
In future, why not paint aircraft in varying shades of black and white to represent what is in period photos.
About the only things that aren’t allowed are BBQs and dogs in the hangers!
The Fleet Air Arm will be very well represented with a Seafire, Sea Hurricane; Sea Fury and Sea Hawk and Sopwith Pup

I hate to bring pubs into this but what state is ‘The Comet’ hotel in these days.
When I was a kid it was a great landmark on the road to London, last time I went that way it looked like a wine bar or something had taken it over.
Andy
It is owned by the Ramada Jarvis hotel chain.
I understand that it is there on loan for 6 months. I will try and find out what the serial number is.
