F-117 was detected by old 1960s radar, so what makes you think F-35 can evade an AESA?

My guess is that in addition to the large wide-angle holographic HUD, J-10 Generation Zwei uses the following large integrated one-piece LCD shown at an exhibition.

Essentially, J-10 Generation Zwei is China’s counterpart of F-35, only it doesn’t have an internal weapons bay due to the use of a centerline intake rather than side intakes as is the case with F-35.

Nonsense. ~ Mach 1,8 at best altitude and ~ Mach 2 with DSI. All the other claims are not official ones or claimed on web-sites to stay polite. Some fanboys like to forget that above Mach 1,8 the heat stress becomes an issue and with it limitations from material and cooling demands. By that all modern fighters with AAMs and some RAM-treating are limited to a practical top-speed of Mach ~1,6 or Mach ~1,8 in general.
The Rafale is a prominent example about that.
    Top-speed:
    2.125 km/h or Mach 1,97 ( 10.975 m at −50 °C)
    Service top-speeds:
    1.915 km/h or Mach 1,78 ( 10.975 m at −50 °C)
    1.397 km/h or Mach 1,13 (over sea at 20 °C)

Under optimum conditions during test flights it may have peaked above that values briefly, but even the lower service top-speeds published are reached in parts of the flying envelope only. 😎

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. This could be why PL-12D ramjet Mach 7 AAMs are being field this year.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diverterless_supersonic_inlet

That can be fitted to every fighter with a fixed inlet. The main gain from that is a better top-speed at first, when below Mach 1,5 it gives no advantage at all. For that reason non get the idea to fit or refit a DSI for the F-16 or better the top-speed of Mach ~2.
It allows the J-17 to reach Mach ~1,8 versus Mach 1,6 and the J-10 Mach ~2 versus Mach 1,8.
Nearly all air combat starts below Mach 1,5 or is winding down after the first maneuvering to transsonic speeds at best. 😎

J-10 is Mach 2.2 without DSI and I imagine about Mach 2.4 with it.

J-10 Generation Zwei’s AESA radar, much better than those fitted in Rafale and F-16 Block 52+

Marine Corps Aviation Introduces F-35B Lightning II Into Fleet

    http://www.xairforces.net/images/news/large_news/USMC_F-35B_Lightning-II_240212.jpg

A century after 1st Lt. Alfred A. Cunningham took his first flight in 1912, Marine Corps aviation introduced the F-35B Lightning II aircraft into its fleet. The short takeoff vertical landing variant combined with fifth generation capabilities is a breakthrough in itself, matching the importance of the first Marine aviator and starting a new chapter in Marine Corps aviation history.

2nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 hosted the ceremony inducting the F-35B Lightning II multirole, joint strike fighter, into the Marine Corps aviation arsenal at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.

Wings are too short and too head-heavy? Anyway I think F-16 looks way better with its bubble canopy and centerline intake and better proportions etc. Isn’t F-35 supposed to be introduced after 2016? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_F-35_Lightning_II

No rearview visibility at all, and by the looks of it, J-10 Generation Zwei’s AESA can find it from over a 100 miles away.

Yes, and JF-17 airframe looks better too. http://khudi.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/jf17.jpg

    Quoted for spectacular fail.
Also utter irrelevancy. Way to avoid the point that no-one wants the JF-17 so far.

Hey why isn’t China helping those civilians? I thought it was a world leader and all.

China never intervenes in other people’s affairs. Plus, JF-17 is one spectacular plane and is used by the Pakistani air force. Pakistan being a Muslim country means it shall soon be introduced to other Muslim countries such as Turkey and UAE and Saudi etc.

JF-17 cockpit, state of the art

I think JSLLL4 is making fun of all of you guys and you don’t realize it; he is probably laughing his rear end off at your replies thinking he is serious!

Either that, or he is incredibly stupid

The internet is useless, bad for people’s minds, ruins relationships, waste’s people’s time, and has dirty porn all over it.

Those thousands of years are irrelevant, sorry. The past several centuries have not been too “hot” for China. 😮

Oh yea? So what, what has America invented besides poisonous useless things that poison the world and people’s minds?

Funny how the amazing, cheap, affordable JF-17 is not wanted by anyone save the original customer, Pakistan.

And what can America do? Can’t even help Syrian civilians. If this was the 1970s America would have been the beacon of freedom.

China is the world leader, dontcha know?!?

Correction. A world leader, not the world leader. China is an old school world power with thousands of years of science, maths, and innovations behind it.

Looool careful JF-17 will win air superiority by making the enemy “green” with envy !!!:D

They BETTER be envious. JF-17 is humankind’s first plane to incorporate the revolutionary DSI technology, both at the prototype stage and at the operational stage.

DSI alone makes it better !?! 😮 :p

Ok, I get it. That means the JF-17’s airframe is even better than the F-16 Block 52+ and the Rafale and the Typhoon and is only bested by the F-35 and J-10B..very good..

who says the WS-10 is better than the F110/F100/M-88 ?!

who says that the J-10B has a better cockpit than the other 2? or that it has better ECM? who says it has a better radar?

As a matter of fact, JF-17’s airframe is better than those of F-16 Block 52+ and Rafale due to the use of DSI. J-10 Gen 2’s radar is phased array, perhaps AESA or perhaps not and is certainly not less technologically advanced as compared to Rafale’s PESA. Plus, J-10 Gen 2’s cockpit is better than JF-17’s which as 3 big LCDs, and has a large green holographic HUD.

    JF-17’s cockpit http://www.jf-17.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/cockpit4.jpg

AFAIK, F-16 Block 52+ still only has 2 small LCDs
