Wannabe Pilot .Before I start I am not wanting to start an arguement with you..I just feel that the last part of your above statement is a bit unfair..
My point is that accidents will and do happen.
The pilots probably had many hours of experience behind them and it was a stupid accident that just happened..
In situations where something goes badly wrong the old ‘flight or fight’ syndrome kicks in(no pun intended..lol) .It doesn’t matter how much training you have you just react to the situation appropriately for that moment in time…Yes in hindsight the pilots are probably saying to themselves that it wasn’t the best way to handle it and maybe there are SOP’s for this kind of event(I do not know.I am not a pilot.).
Anyway I will get off of my soapbox now….
