Your shooting has improved a great deal lately, Rob.
The shots of the whole jet especially.
To illustrate the point – here’s the last photo I took, which I’ve sharpened up a bit so it doesn’t look so bad.
This is the same angle as the KLM shot – and really is the end of the runway!

Thanks for all your kind replies,
Phil.
It is indeed.
Nice shots Phil, that photo doesn’t even do justice to how much of the runway the CO really used up. I flew into Bristol on the 6th, shame it was in the hours of darkness though 🙁
I apologise for that – it was a combination of factors meaning that this was the last decent shot in the series I grabbed:
1. Me still being on one-shot AF (i think)
2. Rusty panning skills,
3. Using up the camera’s buffer too quickly,
4. Brusing my lower jaw as it hit the ground – quite a way up from the top rung of my steps! (I didn’t fall off, it’s just a figure of speech!)
The next shot I took shows the end of the runway but its too soft to be anything I’d want to show other people 😮
Cracking shots there, Adam. That COA left it a bit late didn’t he!?
Typical – I go away for a week – the sun comes out. No fair!
Quality shooting, Paul. That 3/4 angle you get as they turn is superb.
That’s one place I want to visit!
Thanks guys 🙂
Rob and Gary, I was up on the common to get these (along with just about every dog owner in the vicinity ).
Superb shots, Si, and nice to see your work again.
Loving the low light stuff from the local.
Phil.
Hi Rob,
Its great to see another BRS shooter on the forum.
Been a while since I had a go at the A38 spot but looks like you had some great light and some nice traffic to shoot.
What kit are you using (DSLR and lens or compact?) and on what settings?
I’m convinced that with a few simple changes when you shoot, your images could be improved and be more satisfying to you.
Cheers,
Phil.
Great shooting, Adam, as always.
The Ryanair and second easy are my favourite angle from BRS and you’ve nailed it there.
One of these days we’re gonna be up there on the same day!
Keep it up mate.
Phil.
Superb shooting as always, Adam.
The closeup of the RYR stands out for me.
Rather disappointed I didn’t make it up myself today. 🙁
Quality selection of shots, Paul. 🙂
Liking that first Jet2 actually – as well as that Flybe Jungle Jet. I miss them at BRS. 🙁
Excellent shots as always, Si.
You got a great amount of blur on the props of the Aer Arran – still looks really sharp too.
I’ve taken this info from the severnside yahoo group, it was posted by Phil Claridge.
Was operating for My Travel, to Naples. In about 1000 , and again
about 1800
So there’s the answer 😀
“Andy” also posted…
The Naples flight was due out on Friday 19/10, G-DHRG diverted to
Cardiff on its way in from Mahon in the morning and didn’t arrive
back in Bristol from until Cardiff until 23.35.Hence the substitute flight on Saturday.
I didn’t understand that bit – but I take it G-DHRG is a MyTravel A320.
Great shooting, Adam.
That GIRJet is a new one on me – is it a regular visitor at the moment?
Very dedicated, being up at early o’clock – I was still in bed! 😎
nice shots where did you take them from?
jason
Thanks for the kind comments, guys.
I started on 27R departures, just down the road a bit from Myrtle Avenue.
Then on 09L approaches at the normal field spot.
…and I finished with 27L departures from the BP garage at that end.
HTH
Phil.
Great shots, Adam. Nice to see more pics from the local.
I want to know where from though! 🙂
