Like ’em – will have to try to get the QR departure on my next visit 🙂
That ELAL Jumbo looks smart.
James, Deano, Of course you can use the shots no problems.
Phil, as Craigston Tom says, it is a GB A320 operating the new schedule to Tenerife Sur, I think it also operates a few times during the week.
Have you heard that FCA are going to be operating a 767-300 into Bristol for the new Cancun service? Should be an interesting take off……!
Si
D’oh – not really rare at the moment then!
Yeh – I heard that we were gonna get another 76. Caught a Thomson 767 once – Think Continental 757 and how much of the rwy they usually use 😉
Compliments again on your shots Si – really impressed with the clarity and non-existent noise level too. Get that last Embraer shot in the A.net queue!
Thanks guys – here are a few more I liked.

Another of the Qatar A340-600 :rock
Just for fun :smiliegrin
Oi Si – is that a BA Airbus (or similar?) with the two Ryanairs at the terminal?
Saw a BA 146 last Sunday which I thought was un-common but that is a bit rare at BRS…
Manston – that’s the Trade Air flight IIRC
Its a Sun Adria Fokker 100.
Great shooting, Si.
Went to LHR today and now I wish I hadn’t, would have been great to put a face to a name.
The light on that last shot is gorgeous.
Thank you guys 🙂
A few more as promised.

Phil.
Being a sucker for European charters, the Air Europa, does it for me, now when’s our next day out?
To BRS or to anywhere?
Planning a trip to FFD soon – but any resonably bright sunny weekend should do for BRS 😀
Never done LCY myself but this is a potentially useful website….

Could be this place : http://www.spotterswiki.com/index.php?title=London_Heathrow_Airport_%28LHR/EGLL%29#09R_banking.2Fclimbout_shots:Tesco_Dukes_Green
Possibility I may be able to go on the 6th as I’ve got a day-off. Not 100% sure though. Would like to go to Heathrow as I’ve never been for photography before.
Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience in Palma, Dan. Glad you’re back on your feet now :).
Tom’s right there – tried Tesco’s once with Tony O and its pretty good. Pot luck on the aircraft banking around to the right but it’d be really good in the afternoon, once the sun’s moved around on a bright day.
Beauties, Mr O.
That Air India Jumbo really works – love it 🙂
so where are the pics of the queues
Didn’t take any. :diablo:
Thanks Phil. Do you need a stepladder and if there are a fair few spotters there, is there enough parking space?
If you want to take pics then I’d say steps are necessary – you’re severely limited if you can’t get up above the fence line.
Parking spaces can be hard to find at times – sunny weekends or if something special is expected. It was very busy around the time COA started flying in!
This shot should illustrate my description a little better – you can see the road that I referred to – and most of the parked cars are hidden by trees on the right of the frame.

Superb Phil. This is not the first time I have seen shots taken at this spot. Please can you explain how you get there? Also are these over the fence, through the fence, with or without a stepladder etc? Thanks.
Hi Albert – as you can see these are taken from the road that runs around the western end of the runway. On the southern side there is a stretch of the road that is very popular with spotters/enthusiasts and there’s usually a fair few people parked up watching.
You can get to it either via a steep “country lane” type road from the small village of Redhill or there’s a turning from the A38 down to a golf course on the left – that road runs up and around the western end of the runway.
The pics are taken over the fence, with the use of a step ladder.
HTH.
Phil.
Phil, Awesome shots mate…as I said, need some tips from you real soon! Hasn’t Bristol got some stunning background when the jest are taking off from 09.
All the best
Si
Ta, Si – pick a sunny weekend and I’ll do my best to get up there 🙂
