    Very nice indeed, Si.
What kit are you using there – looks like you have quite a long lens!

I was up there today from about 10am – will post some shots from the midday shift in a bit 🙂

Nice shot Andy – Could I trouble you for a hi-res version of it? 🙂

WP – I carefully did the sensor clean myself, as I have not heard good reports about Canon’s own sensor cleaning service. It was so dirty that something had to be done and anything would improve it. I very carefully used a blower brush – I admit it was a bit of a gamble, but it appears to have paid off.

Lovely vibrant shots, but the 2nd Easyjet shot looks oddly like a flight sim screen shot ???

I can vouch for the fact it was a camera and not a joystick I was gripping when I took that pic 😎

Might be the effects of the position of the sun and what I’ve done to the pic in photoshop – it’s tightly cropped and sharpened.

I would love to comment on your shots, but for some reason I can’t see em…? Any explainations/solutions?

Sorry chaps – I hadn’t directly linked the pics correctly.
    All should be fine now.

Thanks for the kind words, chaps. 😀
I took all these pics with my Canon EOS D60 and 75-300mm lens.

The Bahraini 747-400 was apparently bringing in the Premier who was to attend the graduation of one of his charges.

Bloomin lucky to get it too – it was going around as I parked up! 😎

Great pics. I think we all know that yours are far better than mine, i think i saw you, where you with another person in the corner of the field?

Hi BigJet – No, I was by myself in the field/shivering in my car/walking up and down.

I saw two groups of two people and a chap leaping out of his car (much as I was) to capture interesting things.

    Great stuff Mr. Area 🙂
The first PIA shot is very nice indeed – its not often that I manage to pull off distant shots like that, looks sharp too.

    Cheers,
    Phil.

C9 – I suggest you take a look at the rather nice guide that Paul Osborne (UKAR owner) has put together.

    LHR Guide

The main spots are Myrtle Avenue for 27L arrivals and the spot under the 09L approach for when the wind’s blowing t’other way.

    HTH.

I know you’ve probably been asked this a million times before Phil but what camera/lens kit do you use?

FP – I was using my Canon D60 and 75-300 USM Mk.III lens for all these shots.

Set to ISO100 and aperture priority on f/6.7 or f/8.0 mostly – for the Dash 8 and ATR-72 shots I was on shutter priority and 1/250 sec to give a little bit of prop blur.

For the ground/flare/touchdown shots I was using a step ladder too.
