I remember raised eyebrows when this config was introduced. One of my neighbours who is a CSD for BA tells me that it causes no problems or negative comment.
Nice photo but I’ve always disliked the Germania livery and the tweaked logo doesn’t do anything to improve it.
Thanks IE, as I said I should have known both Air Ecosse and Genair, I flew with Genair on BCal flights several times.
Never heard of Burnthills though which is odd as I spent many happy hours at GLA at about this time. Now that I have the correct name a bit of Googling has revealed they were an air taxi company who used a Bell Jetranger to expand into scheduled services to various Scottish destinations. I can’t imagine anyone ever thought that type of service on those routes would be a success.
Cheers.
Found him 😀
Lining up is not the time to play hide and seek!
That Cityjet livery is such a non-event after the lovely VLM livery previously worn by this Fokker.
Well it’s a damn sight better than that God awful giant fly.
Agreed.
Nice shots! The Aer Arann looks like it’s only got the captain on the flightdeck. 😀
I thought that. Cut backs are a terrible thing!:D
I don’t know how others feel about this
You expressed exactly what I thought when I saw this article. We can only hope that the truth isn’t quite as reported.
I would think Walsh, BA and IAG took on Iberia in the belief that they could turn it’s fortunes around, the recently announced restructure being part of this.
Doors4 – Checkout the video in this thread, and watch closely as the aircraft lands.
I appreciate that if you take a structure like an aircraft and exert forces on it there will be flexing, you only need watch a wing-tip to see that, or look at the skin ripples on some aircraft. What I meant was the belief often held by Joe Public that under normal circumstances an aircraft cabin bends like a piece of rubber when in fact most of what they are seeing are cabin fittings moving.
I’ve often heard the cabin flexing theory about various aircraft over the years. I think in reality what people see is the cabin floor flexing and lockers, galleys and other cabin fittings moving giving the illusion of the cabin flexing.
Some great pic’s there.
I’d rather the BA pigeons (sorry, doves!) were painted back to Union Flag before the Firefly. Just MHO.
Had a look at some pic’s of G-OBYG on a.net and have decided the smaller the aircraft the better this livery works, but I’ve always been a sucker for a baby Boeing.
I like that livery on the 75 but I really like it on the 73. Is it on any 76’s yet?
i think its a vast improvement on Thomson’s old livery.
Agreed.
