Talk about a skewed version of history!!:(

Are you sure? History is written by victors and in this case, Britain was the victor. Hence we may have never heard of theses stories which may be true.

MiG has been having problems servicing its aircrafts; partly the reason for many countries opting for Sukhois.

But i thought these issues would be resolved with formation of UAC and dedicated maintenance facilities in India; apparently, not!

    according to Wikipedia, C-47’s (SPOOKY’s..) are still in service in Colombia & El Salvador ;

see “current operators” in ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_AC-47_Spooky#Current_operators

but it seems to be really hard to find convincing views (with roundels..) of them…

friendly, (en mijn beste wensen voor dit jaar !!)

    Etienne

C-46 is still in service as per wiki

Exactly what happened to local assembly of the Typhoon for Saudi Arabia. The local firm hadn’t even begun construction of the planned building by the time it should have started delivering aircraft. The subsequent negotiations were about how much more BAE should be paid for its extra work (i.e. assembly of 48 aircraft from the kits it had been preparing), not penalties for the failure of the local firm – which is what Dassault reckons it’d be on the hook for.

Swerve, it is apparent that you have read only Dassault’s half of the story. If any project is delayed, it could be due to a myriad of reasons. Ultimately the primary contractor is liable who in this case is Daassault. The primary contractor can shift the liability to secondary contractors/vendors when it gives them sub contracts. So Dassault can specify liability on HAL for delay on its part when they negotiate the contract with HAL. However, when they enter into a contract with IAF/MoD, they need to take on the liabilities for delay / non-performance.

Here, the situation is a bit complicated because HAL is the only subcontractor with ability to do the work. Hence Dassault would be forced to negotiate hard on this aspect. Which is what is happening now. The ultimate liability has to be on Dassault. If it is on HAL, the Dassault can wriggle out without transferring requisite expertise to HAL. And they are getting paid a large sum of money for that. The contract would be half the value if ToT was not there.

If you make a reference to a post of mine, I will respond.

I’ve posted the links. If you think you can prove that the weight of the RD-33 didn’t increase by a single kilogram with the thrust increasing 10%, please go ahead.

If you have an issue with my ‘trolling’, either report me to the mods or keep your trap shut.

If engine manufacturer is quoting 1055 kg, what is the issue? If you increased thrust by 10% and weight by 10%, then there is no improvement in T:W ratio. So you are saying engine technology is russia has not improved in 30 years?

F414 EPE is supposed to increase thrust by 20% and you dont believe it also?

I don’t think you can. If the software is American, the date has to be that way around.

It’s the same on Microsoft Office 365.

    It can be customised

Slashing F-15 C/D is better than slashing F-16. F-16 should be kept as they are multirole and cheap to operate.

In any case I wonder what level of deck operating the Russians have taught the Indians.

Indians operated ex-UK carriers and would have modeled their operations on those lines.
