Between Aer Lingus Ryanair and Aer Arran there’s not a great deal else at Dublin…

Two shots of my personal highlight of the day… Aer Lingus A330-300, EI-JFK on take off late afternoon. I’d hoped to clap eyes on either EWR or DAA as I’ve flown on those. I saw this one come and go, also LAX and CRK. Lovely stuff and as a bystander local said to us… “Jaysus I don’t know how they get off the feckin ground”:D

Well I travelled on Aer Lingus and it was tidy and fine, I’ll do a proper trip report later, too tired now. Here’s a few snaps in the mean time…

I was 1971 aged “babe in arms”, don’t remember much but apparently it was a BIA Herald from Glasgow to Isle of Man. First flight I recall was 1981 on a BY 732, Glasgow-Jersey. didn’t fly again for an amazing 14 years… Stornoway-Glasgow. Been making up for lost time ever since.

There’s a feature in the last Aircraft Illustrated on Atlanta, they’ve registered a UK business called Air Atlanta Europe.

I’d really like to think they’ll be 1/400th but at those prices I doubt it.. oh well the search continues.

I measured my 1/500th scale A346 and it’s 15cm approx, my 1/400th scale A346 is 18cm approx and a 1/400 Boeing 744 is 17cm approx. So my guess is that those Virgin models will be 1/500th.

Now what was that about bits falling off airliners… LOL

Yes the missing wheel has been logged and maintenance have been notified, the good people of Southern Armenia are currently scouring the fields for it (lol).

Actually I took that picture and e-mailed it to Gemini Jets in the USA, they are sending me a replacement wheel for it.
