And wasn’t ‘Tame’ used in a tv advert recently ? Vodka or something ?

Yes, I’ll have a try with some test prints this week hopefully. I’ll also tune into Flypast forum a bit more often, there often seems to be lengthy photo discussions going on there. 😀

Thanks again Roger, and might I say what a great looking picture that is.

I was in a local ASDA supermarket in Glasgow, and noticed they have one of those self service digital printing facilities within their photo lab area. You can insert your memory card or a CD and select/print your own pics on photo grade fuji paper. I might give it a go when I get the digi-SLR up and running.

    Cheers

It could be the same one, but that would have meant cancelling yesterday’s Newark flight. It’s scheduled to leave GLA at around 1300 I think so it’s possibly the next one in from this morning. The arrivals schedule certainly has one coming in as normal.

I get what you’re saying Wys.

I know you mentioned going to France next month for a break, just wondering if guys in your line of business look for holiday places far removed from the types of places you fly to all the time ?

Would the thought of a fortnight in Lanzarote or suchlike be enough to do your head in ?

Kim’s still making records with The Breeders AKAIK. Black’s latest record heavily features the other Pixies, Joey and Dave as backing musicians.

They all get on well apparently, just Kim that’s got the problem with Black Francis. Clash of ego’s as ever. 😉

Hey hey , I’ll settle for that analysis !

As for the Pixies, I got into them in 1988 aged 18. Went to see them 3 times in Glasgow, well 2 and a half. On the third occasion at the SECC, the crowd barrier collapsed and the safety anoraks had the show stopped after about 4 numbers as I recall.

Wasn’t all bad news, we got a refund and we’d already seen Teenage Fanclub play an excellent support set. I was well gutted when they split up. Black Francis was on the radio recently talking about a possible get together if Kim Deal agrees to it. That would be ace.

I was a bit miffed to hear him talk about how he had been staying in a cottage in Glencoe, the same week I was there camping. Probably just missed bumping into him in the village pub.

As for them not being all that popular… In the early 90’s at their peak they were the biggest thing around in the alternative music scene, much bigger (and better) than Nirvana. Nirvana were huge of course but it felt to me at the time they were not the biggest thing going on. Of course Kurt Cobain’s suicide in ’94 sealed their place in notoriety. It always amazed me how many people got into Nirvana after they were current. Nothing wrong with that of course , but death sells as they say and I think Nirvana are one of those bands who possibly carry greater prestige now than 10 years ago.

I also saw early Nirvana live and wasn’t particulary impressed, slighty underwhelmed to be honest.

    Cheers !

Well I got Monkey Gone to Heaven and no character analysis popped up… oh well!

Funny I was just thinking about the Pixies last night, looking through my scrap book of gig tickets, as I added my Red Hot Chilli Peppers/ Foo Fighters stubs from the show at Glasgow Green.

Found my Pixies at the Glasgow Barrowland ticket from 1991. Oh what a night that was. 😉

So I suppose the term “delivery flight” is something of a misnomer then ? It should be referred to as a “collection flight” I’m guessing ?
