Great pics especially the Jetmagic Embraer. I also like the first shot showing Titanic’s birthplace in the background. (Harland & Wolf shipyard)

I’m guessing BA must be high up the list.

How did the plane at Meigs Field manage to avoid the huge X shaped ditches Mayor Daley had dug into the runway ?

Their livery has “Balkan” on the forward fuselage and “BH Holidays” on the tail fin.

I think the North American plane is actually a deep green colour as opposed to the deep blue associated with Caledonian. Can anyone confirm this ?

Most of Scotland get’s frustrated at having to travel to MAN for so many flights as well. At least we have a few long haulers out of Glasgow but most of the Scots I know going trans-atlantic, route through MAN or LHR.

You’re absolutely right but what I mean about Glasgow is that it’s not even within the political boundaries of Glasgow but in fact in another town. Strictly speaking, Paisley International Airport would be more appropriate.

Hmmm… I feel a campaign coming on and Bhoy strongly disagreeing with me 😀

As for Prestwick still being international then yes, as it carries flights to destinations outwith the UK. Ryanair to Ireland, Globespan (for now) to Spain and lot’s of ad-hoc charters and cargo to all over the world.

They are not ex Caledonian aircraft. AFAIK, JMC and BA divvied them up.

Glasgow Prestwick, is about 25 miles away from Glasgow International and I’ve never really considered Prestwick as somewhere that should carry “Glasgow” in it’s title. It certainly never used too.

Glasgow International is also not technically in Glasgow but 8 miles to the West of the city centre. It’s actually situated within the administrative boundaries of my home town of Paisley. You can walk from Paisley town centre to the airport in 15 or 20 minutes.
