To Shorty01 This aircraft maybe a fairly common sight in Germany but it is not in Scotland.
I can’t help but feel a touch of sarcasm in your post!

I believe she was going to Brisbane. I checked on Airliners.net and they have some pic’s of her in Malta prior to going onwards to Australia. I will keep checking so if you find out any more let us know too.

Image didn’t go so I’ll try again!
Hi,
Your correct about the engine runs! But these are a regular event as they have to run the engines to maintain them (if you like) apparently this type of engines have to be run on a regular basis or they are scrap!
I will post any further info as I find out after all there is some history here at Prestwick which when gone we may never see again! SAD REALLY!
Jimbo:(
The 747 has been bought by Prestwick airport and is available for film use and is also used by the Fire department for non destructive training. As for the 737’s there still flying yet!

Shorts Belfast
The Belfast was moved over to HMS Gannet side on Friday. I assume the move was to allow access for polar hanger use or the new Ryan air hanger as work there is ongoing. South Air Pacific has bought her but thats all I know at the moment.
I check every day and will let you know if things start moving.

Hi Ken_Murray,
There is a good spot on the south side to view the whole 31/13 runway and the polar hanger area. When driving past the terminal building going into Prestwick go straight on at the roundabout and carry on past the garden center and at the traffic lights turn left. On this road take the first left and follow until you reach the end. If you park on the small hill you will get a great view. Hope this helps!
Enjoy

Shorts belfast
Yes it is still there this morning, It has been in the Polar air hanger for a few days for maintenance but is parked outside the hanger again.
If anyone needs any updates on prestwick movements, etc I will be happy to help. I live local to the airport.
