i know i sound impatient, but does anybody know what sort of work still needs to be done to the cr 42? i know the engine and wings need to be fitted, but is it a case of still doing alot of the internal work or is it now we would call in the final stages?
anybody know how long they plan to keep the hurri over here before it goes to ottawa? its a shame, but there’s alot to look forward to!!!
Any news on that lovely spitfire mk v?
From what i gather then, the tfc are sending both mustangs, the curtiss hawk, the p-39, the hellcat, corsair and spit v. should be quite an airshow!! the parachute drop from the dc 3 should be quite a sight!!
whats happened to those two me 109’s?
i know its a bit off topic now 😀 , but i can’t wait for that mark v spitfire in the the desert scheme, that is going to be so wicked
isn’t there a company on jersey who have a good relationship with tfc? i don’t know if tis them and i’m not saying it is but can anyone confirm the name for me? cheers.
be good to see another me 109 though
if not look in waterstones, thats where i got it.
cheers
its called mustang ace: don gentile.
very, very interesting read!! the story how he crashed ‘shangri la’ is nothing short of outrageous!!
off we go again…..the thread starts to get going and someone has to mention legends. would be nice to see her on the AIRSHOW circuit as from what i gather it will be the first of its kind in the world. As for the yak3 , there was a small article in flypast some months ago that it went to chino, but it didn’t say it had been sold, although if i was to assume it has been (wasn’t it a converted yak 9 from the egyptian air force?)
they couldn’t possibly have three new planes this year? (four including the staggerwing!)
its in the cupboard at my old dears house. as soon as i find it i’ll give you a shout.
alright daz
i read the don gentile biography through the summer, and although its not all about eagle squadran, there’s a fair chunk of it based around it. it kept me quiet for a few days in sorrento sun i can tell you that!! 😀
indeed the me 109 may be said to fly like a dream, but you have got to get the bloody thing in the air first!!!
Anyway, when i win the euro lotto tonight………..
(wishful thinking!)
i remember that formation coming over my house in corringham essex on its way to north weald and i spent half an hour arguing with my dad cos he thought they were mustangs!!! he refuses to acknowledge me to this day!!
As for all this nonsense about black 6, i thoroughly agree with Andy that it was a accident, in a difficult aircraft to fly, and that anybody who has the nerve to try and blame pilots, who dedicate the time and love for free, should really take a long hard look at themselves.
Anyway, it will be great to see the me 109 alongside the raco buchon if it comes over. As its already been said, BRING IT ON!!! 😀
