Gee this is familier…………….
Sir Richard ‘as me money, so I’ll see you there
I was lucky enough to see a Mosquito fly at Biggin 30 odd years ago, whilst I love the usual BBMF aircraft, I don’t think the Mozzie has an equal.

Chooks
Are chinooks historic aviation?? as an eaxample.
Since they were in service when I was and not having worn a uniform for 30years, I would say yes
The aircraft that flew was an experimental design and a worthy exercise in aerodynamics. Had the prototype survived I am sure that the people at Farnborough would have gleaned some useful data from it. As stated above, they could not have produced a viable combat aircraft, due to lack of development funds, men and material.
Classic Jets at Parafield Airport, Adelaide, South Australia have a made up cockpit for the kids and used to allow sitting in the Sea Venom. Occasionally they have open cockpit days where a volunteer will man each aircraft and supervise patrons sitting in them.
The Fairey Battle, I would nip back quietly and replace them all with something a bit more capable performance wise, maybe Boston /Havocs. then re-run the ill fated Maastricht raids…
Wonder what it would have been like if re engine with the Griffon? with nearly twice the horsepower it may have been viable.
Certainly, the Australian version carried sidewinders inboard and tanks outboard…………http://www.classicjets.com/collection/c_Sabre.html…………Digger
RFTS Telemovie
And approximately fifteen years too old for the early 1940s part of the movie
Moggy
True, but if you shot it this year, he would only be 2 years older than Kenneth Moore was and I reckon he looks younger.
With the Harry Potter films finished what about Daniel Radcliff, Rupert Grint or Tom Felton, they’re all pretty good and would fit the age.
Getting back to RFTS, it could be made as a telemovie, purchase footage from BofB, Dark Blue World, etc . Re shoot training scenes and “Paintbox” the original Hurricane aerobatics (because nobody would throw one about like that anymore).
There are plenty of good actors out there, John Simm (Life on Mars) is about the right stature.
Glad to hear all is well. Enjoyed my visit in 2009, must get over to Melbourne again soon……….Digger
It’s very good.
Who wrote this?
I think many RSL members in Australia would share this sentiment, as well…………….Digger
Casino Royale.
Ahh, thanks, must admit I was a bit “tired and emotional” when I saw Casino Royale, must watch it again………
Half the fun of watching is to see what’s on the airfield. I was intrigued by the 747 having its engines twin podded and replacing the outer engine mounts with slipper tanks. what was that about?
Mitsubishi Zero was a fast agile fighter, comparable to spitfire and ME109, but the trade off was no protection of any kind for the pilot and limited armament.
