Cheers Steve, just what I was looking for. They are something different which is nice.
Frustratingly, when I stood chatting to the guy I got them from earlier, the search would not bring any results up!
Thanks guys, I thought it was but just wanted to check. I got talking to a family at a local garage sale and this was in their outbuilding.
Is this fairly scarce as only c350 Gannets were ever made? I haven’t bought it yet and was hoping for some advice around how much it is worth. Obviously it is not perfect, and no, this will not end up on ebay either!
Thanks
Aircraft
Thanks both, I have tried both of these sources and have had little success. Most of the images are from later in the war and even googling has been fairly unsuccessful so far.
Aircraft,
The Following manuals have been digitised so far:
AP1565A Vol 1 for the Spitfire Mk1, AP 1565E Vol 2 repair schemes, AP1565 A&B Modification leaflets, AP1565 A&B Vol 3 spares listing , Swedish Illistrated parts manual for the MkXIX which is fantastic to read, AP1565 Vol 1 for the MKIX and the AP1565 Vol 3 spares listing for the MkXVI is currently in progress.
I also understand there are also Merlin and Rotal manuals which have been digitised.Jason
Hi Jason,
That’s interesting, any idea where I can get them from please?
Thanks
Aircraft
Can anyone disclose where you can obtain a digital copy for any mark please?
Once again the forum provides a wonderful outcome. Thank you for your input Jon, Bill and Mike.
I have to say that I really like the look of this seat, and it’s very comfortable too! Now to see if I can find on original cushion for it!
Dear all,
Thank you for all of your helpful replies.
I think we can safely say that Jon has solved the mystery. Would this be a Beverley specific seat, or would other types also use them?
Thank you,
Aircraft
Ian, thank you for confirming it is a front panel and for your kind words. Yes it did come together with the spade grip. The diagram from the pilots notes will help me to fill the gaps, thank you.
FLY.BUY and natural, thank you for the advice, I will give WD40 a go and hopefully will be able to restore the original sheen to the panel.
Will be great if I could find a rear panel to partner it up with in the future.
My new project
Finally I get to add a panel to this thread!
My latest acquisition that I picked up this weekend.
Just a few holes to fill and a couple of instruments to find.
I do not wish to strip and paint this panel so is there a way of tidying it up and making it look clean again?
Oh, and a daft question on my part, is this the front or rear panel from a Harvard 2 please?

Yes, my Anson seat does too. This pair came with a single seat of similar manufacture but with legs on only one side. Appears to either add to these, or fit against the side of the fuselage.
Any ideas anyone?
For reference the stampings on the plate are Part No M763, Serial no B7492 and in the circle J A R 32.
Hi Cornovii,
Thank you! I have a mounting type 27 and a camera and was wondering how it went together!
Don’t suppose anyone has an adaptor plate spare do they?
Sorry, I didn’t state that the gauntlet manual is an actual manual and not pilots notes.
I guess it might be impossible to guarantee if the spitfire notes are original. They just feel right, and have the same smell to them as the other paperwork they were with. Hard to show in photos but in the hand I feel they are original. There was provenance that included evidence of at least 8 ops flown on mark v spitfires by the pilot who owned these.
Thanks for all of your replies.
Well, here is the result of today’s visit with a nice extra on top.
The orange paper feels the same on both sets. There are no pasted amendments in the spitfire notes but this is the 5th reprint of March 44.
I would be interested to hear your opinions.

]Hi Mike,
I hope not!!
Here are some further photos with the whole thing assembled.
Any ideas?
Thanks Brian, that is about the only link I was able to find online!
This compass is available for trade / sale if anyone is interested, although I have no real idea of its value.
