I have attached a profile of a Viet Cong A-37 from the Wings Palette web site.
Very nice:cool:
Thanks for that picture Canpark! What aircraft and how many did the VietCong operate? Was this a real independent air arm or rather VPAF planes with a new insignia painted on?
I don’t know about the exact number, but the Viet Cong started using ex-VNAF aircraft when South Vietnamese crews defected to them after the withdrawal of US forces in 1973. The most famous defector was Pilot Nguyen Thanh Trung who is currenly the chief of VietNam Airlines.
The Viet Cong air force was an independent air force according to official VietNamese history, until it was absorbed by the VPAF in 1976 after official reunification. Its arsenal consisted of America-made former South Vietnamese F-5A/B/E, A-37 and other aircrafts.

Yay, go American kill kill kill!

Delivery of VPAF Su-27s in 1994.
The Viet Cong had its own air force towards 1975, flying captured A-37 Dragonflys. Sorry about the quality.
I don’t think the Ethiopians have won the war, yet. Instead they’re probably in for a surprise because from what I know, nearly all Somalian clans share the common hatred of Ethiopians.
The Su-22 can hardly be called a fighter, these days 🙂 it’s mostly useful as a CAS aircraft. If a mud-mover is what they were looking for the most one can criticize the VPAF for is not buying a more modern CAS aircraft in the first place. What was the unit price for the Su-22s? With those crates being obsolescent at best the VPAF must have gotten them really cheap.
I know the VPAF bought about 35, but I have no idea about the cost sorry:(
It’s unusual in that The head of French military delegation was allowed in to look around one of MiG-21 operating units within VPAF. then pose with fighter pilots in order to mutually promote once-sagging military cooperation to varying degrees following the pull-out from luxurirant former colony.
:D:DGreat finds.
My turn, President Vo Minh Triet and his wife inside the cockpit of a freshly painted Su-22 recently arrived from Poland. Such a waste of money, instead they could’ve purchased more modern fighters.

I really, really, really don’t believe that anyone takes this “They hate us because of our freedom”-crap seriously. That remark is testament of such an incredible ignorance on the rest of the world the US happens to have a thick finger into, it’s pathetic.
lol….nicely said…..its not like America is the only country to have freedom……
I was born and raised in one of the most pro-American country in the world- Australia- and I dislike America not for its freedom but for its arrogant attitude towards the world. I often come across sick bloodthirsty Americans boasting about their country’s ability to destroy others, and even advocating such actions over and over again. The first time I came to this forum I encountered American members who were like that.
At the personal level I can’t stand the hypocrisy, after September 11 Americans bitched about the “terrorists” that attacked their country, playing the victim and bitched so well that they drowned out the moans and cries of others who became victims of America’s super-weapons afterwards. The September 11 attacks ought to have taught Americans a lesson, but it hasn’t. Many thick-skulled Americans still believing that their country is doing great things for the world despite the path of destruction that they left behind in some parts of the world, that ignorance will come back and bite America in the ass.
