I believe you can properly start your PPL at age 16. I always remember hearing tales of lucky young individuals who learn to fly before they can drive! Hours count from age 15 (?? or have I got that wrong? ) but no solo’ing until 16.

As I understand it, Brent Spiner (who plays Data) was concerned about the fact he looked like he was starting to age, and androids should not age, so he decided to end the character before he got too old.

Thanks guys; glad you enjoyed them.

Shorty01, I liked your Pistonenvy site. Lovely shots of the cars at Goodwood – I must make it over there someday – and that colouring on the American ones is interesting. I see you’ve been to Fowey too – nice spot, was there last year!

Amarillo, TX in June this year. I wasn’t piloting, but was along for a very happy ride in a formation of three T-6s and the T-34 in front. My first time in formation (and in a T-6) and hopefully not the last – it was huge fun!

    I’m here 🙂

Unfortunately I don’t have a lot to contribute, not being a pilot, nor having a chance in hell of becoming one in the forseeable future.

I can do pictures though – here; have another little Piper:

Currently rejoicing in the delightful mix provided by KLBJ here in Austin. They play such gems as Rush, AC/DC, Ozzy, Seether, Evanescence, Boston, Iron Maiden, Guns’n’Roses…….. etc.

Going to miss it on my return to the UK…. What’s XFM up to these days?

Tentative yes for me and Mr Shox. We’re back in the country by then but may well be tied with family commitments.
