RE: Connie visits Duxford today
Am I right in thinking it is to stay overnight? What time/day is it due to depart – do you have any more up-to-date news?
RE: Dutch Constellation: Now it is for real
Rumour has it very strong that the Connie will arrive at Duxford mid to late afternoon today, remain overnight and fly out Wednesday morning.
This site has news but is incredibly slow to load:

As in the book about microlighting? Marvellous, that is! I just read it last month. Very funny. Not sure I’d want to be in the same aircraft though…
RE: Bl**dy journalists!
And that’s why I am now confused! The way it’s worded, it’s like Howard appeared on the TV as the contestant…. not that I could watch anyway as we don’t C5 (surprise).
Mind you, that’s not the only article they didn’t get their facts right in this week, so I guess we’ll just have to stick with ‘Bl**dy journalists’ for now!
RE: So come on then, Moggy, what do you know about Eminem???????
Moggy must have done alright, there’s an article about all this in the Bury Free Press this week! (local Suffolk newspaper, for those who are wondering what I’m on about)
RE: Model aircraft.
Have you guys seen the latest Abbey National advert?

I suspect many of us could relate to this 🙂
RE: My Favourite Aircraft
>Make an old man happy and post your Chippy Pics!!!
OK then, here’s one (G-AOZP):

RE: Model aircraft.
I have some of the Corgi die-cast ones. A Spit, Hurricane, ME109, Mustang and Hunter, and my partner has a Lightning.
Got a couple of plastic ones in boxes but not enough time to make them right now… still, winter’s coming…

So, go at a *really* quiet time and/or butter up ATC first…
RE: Cockpits
Pardon me for some shameless pluggery, but [link:futurshox.net/section.php3?gname=Cockpits|this] may be of interest to Tony et al…
Never made it to Newark, but if/when I do, this section will be increased 😉 There’s more to come, I’ve got some aircraft from Farnborough, North Weald etc to scan yet.
RE: Gratuitous Plug – Rougham Airshow this weekend
Glad you enjoyed yourself, Steve 🙂
Here’s a couple of pics, one of the Lanc and one of Charlie Brown’s Spitfire, illustrating just how wet it was!

Okay, this is probably an incredibly dim question but I’ll ask it anyway – surely in the restoration of other aircraft, they must have to make various parts from scratch? Couldn’t the same be done for the Shackleton, if that’s what is necessary? Or does it basically boil down to money, or the lack thereof?
I’m sure you’re right, and the museum would if they could; I just wonder what the limiting factors are in their decisions about these things.
RE: Plea for a victor……
As far as I’m aware, they stay pretty much in the same places the whole time. I don’t remember them moving in the last three years or so, anyway.
RE: Gratuitous Plug – Rougham Airshow this weekend
Well, I hope you enjoyed yourselves, if you did indeed make it to Rougham. I can only apologise for the appalling weather on Sunday!! Still, at least we did get all the aircraft in the air after the thunderstorms had passed over, and they displayed very well. The only exception was the Blenheim, which was stuck in France after a mechanical failure – a broken piston ring, I believe.
We were all impressed with the Lancaster – after booking it for ‘a flypast’, she gave us several circuits of the airfield with at least four great passes, before continuing on her way.
We’ll book some sun next year; promise! 😉
RE: Sharks
There’s an advert in this month’s Today’s Pilot for the sale of all their Gazelles, still in the red and white team colours with sharks on the tails. So if you want one…!
