RE: Ashley’s Airshow Report
Well, cold it certainly was but I enjoyed it 🙂
Sheltering in the lee of the Flypast/FOD tent definately helped though…

They flew a beautiful display, very controlled and tight formation. Lovely.

I watched her too! 😉

They seemed to have dropped the way they flew last year, in that you could see the wings change shape, but I didn’t notice that this time.

They did well to get that started, for sure, it just didn’t want to know!

Far as I know, yes, they are the team members that didn’t want to quit.

No indeed- I heard a chap bring to the attention of the FOD staffers, news of a young lad being encouraged to throw his toys airside and then being dangled over the fence to pick them up. Why do I always come away from airshows saying “There’s always one!!”?
Still, it was a good start to the season, weather aside. I saw some types that I haven’t seen before and nothing was bent or broken, so it was a good day!
RE: Duxford car parking question
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-05-02 AT 09:31Â AM (GMT)]OK, there is no way to turn into the airfield from the west on the A505 – it’s coned off, and you always get punted into the Mess-side parking. Your best bet is to go down a junction on the M11 (London side) and come back up. They filter the traffic off the M11 from the south, straight into the Hangar 1 parking zone. However this does not work for taking a junction further *up* the M11 (from the north) as you come off the motorway onto the roundabout, and are therefore filtered to the Mess-side zone again. Hope that makes sense!
RE: Jubilee Airshow, Duxford May 5th 2002
I’ll be there, in the Flypast/FOD enclosure 🙂 I’ll say hello if I spot anyone with Spitfire earrings!

I’m sorely tempted… The only snag is the weekend working… but there’s *other* airshows to go to as well! I want to go to *all* of them! 😉
RE: Somthing gentle and bimbling for a change
That looks nice! I like ‘gentle and bimbling’, too 😉
RE: Duxford American Air Museum Moves
The building won’t be shut completely, they are planning to keep most of the walkways either side open. You won’t be able to walk on the floor though.
