that is one odd viper. nuke maybe?
So does anyone have technical drawings showing how round TVC nozzles are actuated? I’m real curious to the way these things work.

This is just awesome. It’s meant for speed.
I’ve asked before and i’ll ask again. Where in hades are they going to put enough fuel in that airframe to patrol the northern frontiers?
It seems almost all of the internal volume is taken up with weapon bays. Maybe they will not use a max load on normal operations and put a tank in one or more of those bays? If one looks at a see-through drawing of for example an F15, its internal volume is almost all filled with fuel bladders.

Lol and to think one of the design goals for F22 was to decrease cost of ownership significantly over F15.
I cant say it but in gamer terms: feature creep FTL
I can attest to that. I went to the Paris air salon a couple years ago and it was supposed to show off these incredible feats of agility, but a loud bang, a flame and a hasty landing put an end to that. The C 27 put on a great show though! :p
Whoa that mig’s tailfeathers look eerily organic. I wonder how they managed to make actuators that are at the same time small, fast, powerful and light enough to fit on such a fighterplane without distorting its balance performance and aerodynamics. amazing.
But thats ok. On the subject of exhaust nozzles, I can figure how two dimensional thrust vectoring nozzles work. Flat ones, like on the F22. But how in hades do the round ones like on advanced Flankers and the proposed Eurofighter upgrade work?
How do you know that?
And will there really be any sober russian pilots around that day? (New years eve)..
Feh, good russian plane can fly even with inebriated pilot. Its neccesary 😛
(i make teh funneh, k?)

This picture is glorious. I want it postersize on my wall. What pure poetry of metal, power and sky.
The nose of the brahmos missile looks odd. why does it have this rather phallic shape?
Those early victors are truly gorgeous in the air to air shots. its funny because later models in different angles look fugly as hell.
I find that Indian delta winged jet quite a pretty thing too.

Dangerous waters is made by the same crew who made fleet command.
It is more focussed on individual platform command rather than overall fleet or theatre command. Think of it as an individual ship simulator instead of a strategy game. It has an active modding community AFAIK.
Sadly, with the cancellation of Harpoon IV there just isnt a game of the scope of Fleet command made since. If you want a less graphically attractive, but more accurate game of the same kind, you’d do no wrong in looking at one of the iterations of Harpoon. It has been kept up to date with new platforms etc.
Excellent posts, thank you very much 🙂
That tailfin is huge! Wonder what they needed such an enormous big fat tailfin for.
