Ooh that J-10bis thing looks mighty interesting. The pic is obviously CGI though. That intake, super crusader anyone?

…. and it’d probably only gain you a twin AAM launcher out there. When are you going to need those?
in computer simulations. never can have enough AAMs in those. :diablo:
side by side seating allows for much greater crew cooperation. they can look at eaochothers’ displays much more easily, and see what the other guy is doing. Both the A-6 and F-111 had side by side seats for those reasons.
now thats a whole other question…
Fighting piracy.. isnt that what navies are for? I agree with the people saying an LHD would best suit this sort of work, aided by UAV surveillance. Navy SEALS, ospreys or merlins and a bunch of cobras to ensure the pirates know they’re outgunned.
If the roman navy could sweep their seas of priates, our modern navies should have no problem at all doing that.
Could a towed decoy like the ALE-50 used on the B1-B possibly increase the chances of survival?
Well, if the missile switches to HOJ mode, it would indeed go for the towed decoy.. unless that decoy has been used in an exercise while the missiles’ manufacturer and/or owner had some elint sniffers in the area. in that case it would ‘know’ the real target is 50 feet aeahd of the decoy :diablo:
lol i totally forgot about the HOJ mode on amraam. Turning on the music would actually increase PK.
i wonder how far the a400m can be supersized
afaik the amraam is datalinked with its parent. this datalink usually is used for midcourse guidance before its own little radar takes over for terminal guidance.
If the target is jamming, the seeker will have a much shorter range, so the datalink would have to do more of the guidance. I dont know if that would have much of an impact on its PK.
Of course the datalink needs data too, so the launching aircraft needs either burn through the jamming itself, or use alternate means of acquiring the data, such as IRST.
So from radar-only planes such as F16 and F15, the effect of a jamming target would be reduced range, and possibly reduced PK. For something like the eurofighter, the IRST might take care of the range, but PK would still be limited by the accuracy of the datalink data.
isnt that what the jf-17 is? the fighter the chinese co-produced with the pakistani?
what is this fat herc y’all are talkin about?
Also, the nearest metro station is about a two click walk from the airfield. So be aware and prepared for that. You might want to discourage high heels and other such impracticalities in your party.
UCAV baby! yea!
isn’t your site itself the very proof fixed sam sites are outdated relics? mobile sam sites such as S-400 is where its at.
