The PLA is cunning. Rather than spend billions in upgrading their Navy to take on the Indian fleet, they spent only a few hundred and took down India’s newest flag ship 😮

Nah, they actually got paid for that…. lol.

I think it would be best if India pulled out of the Il-214 project and instead went for C-130. India gains no technical base / experience with the Il-214 since it has no input in it other than a few avionics. So instead we could go for the best in industry plane in that category, C-130, and have it license built by Tata.

Tata would gain aircraft building experience instead of wasting more money on that failed PSU known as HAL.

No need to be mad Wanshan. Vikram is a lemon and no one can change that.

IN is going to waste a considerable amount of resources on that lemon.

Looks like IN will have to buy Nicholas Chiker tugboat and keep her in Vikram battle group at all times.

BTW, are ships referred to as her or him in Russia?

There are around 125 Bison (upgraded Mig-21). Might be another squadron or two of non-upgraded Mig-21. All these Mig-21s will be retired by 2018.

Also all the Mig-27s will be retired by 2020.
