If only a bit bigger….perfect wallpaper. Alas.
new Ka-52 from batch.
Awesome pic. Ka-52 is looking quite beastly.
What are the specs for its current avionics & ESM/ECM fit?
Also, what is the “president” system that mikoyan1991 mentioned?
What is in the nose? an MMW radar?
Thanks.
Man I can’t get over how disproportionately large that radar nose cone looks on that small fighter, both in length and breadth. Must have an oversized dish for a small fighter. Any specs on the MMR?
FWIW: Just did a comparison with other contemporary fighters (F-16, Mirage 2000, Gripen, MiG-29) and found/felt that ratio of nose length to length of the airframe is probly greater for the LCA. Counted 6-7 noselengths and as many as 9 on the F-16.
USS
The LCA radar is 650mm wide. It is larger than the Mig-29 (Zhuk-ME 624mm) and Gripen (PS-05 600mm) radars.
Range was intended to be 120 km vs a 2 sq.m target.

LSP-8 and LSP-6 (Weaponised trainer ?) should be flying within a few months along with NP-1 and NP-2.
LSP 6 is an experimental airframe which will be used to expand the flight envelope. AFAIK, it will also be kitted out with spin recovery equipment (parachutes).
For that purpose, i reckon it would be a single seater as there is no need to endanger a second pilot.
It should have something like this installed –

Yep, thats what it looks like Jo.
I dont see the point of trying to portray it as anything Indian. It will be wholly designed by the Snecma with screw driver stuff being done by GTRE. The only thing that we would gain are some of the important materials tech.
IMHO, the K9 program should be continued in parallel with a new redesigned core with the tech absorbed from Snecma.
But how many Polish AF F-16s have been lost to crashes, compared to IAF Su-30MKI?
But it’s not fair to victimise the Su-30MKI. Hasn’t the IAF also lost a pair of Hawk trainers, which have only been newly delivered?
Dutch F-16s are ancient. First delivered in 1980 – most of them must have at least 6,000 hours on their airframes?
No IAF Hawks have crashed. Also, I seriously doubt those F-16s have done more than 3,000 / 4,000 hrs. IAF mirages were bought in the 1980s and have been working superbly.
Its pretty obvious that the author has commented on the MKI’s out of his backside.
Another M2k went down and seems like again it was an engine issue. 🙁

Maybe they will have to ground the fleet till the problem is identified.

Seems like the fleet is indeed grounded for now as per Livefist tweet. Engine flamed out at 16k feet.
Of course Mr Ohff has a sound understanding of the basic Collins platform, I’m not certain he’s such an authoritative source on the modern Collins submarine capability.
Since he’s left, they’ve received an entirely new combat system, a new sonar system, new radar absorbent materials on the boat’s hull as well as new overall signature management system, a new torpedo system, an upgraded anti-ship missile system, a new Electronic Warfare and ESM system and new Electro-Optical sensors.
In other words, he has no familiarity at all with the boats combat capability as they are today, besides the basic hull and propulsion elements.
I reckon he has more familiarity with those boats than you & I and is aware of all those upgrades.
The Su-33s have already received a light modernization/overhaul. Past 2015 they will decide to keep or retire them. MiG-29s overall footprint is smaller than Su-33, so they will be able to carry more.
Apparently Su-33 footprint was smaller than the old Mig-29k model. So the quantity carried shouldnt really change.
^and hopefully designs for the new future Russian Navy carrier will also be unveiled.
Vik should hopefully arrive in India by mid of next year. Maybe we will start seeing some decent videos then.

Nice looking Ka-226.
Is that a naval version of Ka-226 ?
^^ Wow, that is one massive floating dry dock.
Well the problem with Vik was that gutting her out first would have cost a lot of money.
Hmmmmm….. did Varyag had to be similarly gutted out first? Remove old cables / equipment and stuff?
I wonder how much it would have cost if IN had bought the Varyag and asked the Russians to complete it.
What about the Israel – Arab 6 day war?
Didnt Arab countries have more fighters?
