Thanks for the info Teer.
Regarding the two Akula’s from Russia; i had read there was interest to get two of them but seems like that plan didnt materialize. Only one will be leased.
Also the Hypersonic Air Launched Article missile would be competing with BrahMos 2 for resources. I doubt there are two different programs for the same purpose. Its possibly referring to the same project instead.
That last aircraft seems to be facing some technical problems.
DRDO working on an ARM ??? First time I am hearing of that. Any info available on it Teer?
Also, isnt the SLBM the same as the K-15 ?
WARNING : Headache alert !!
…must have.. *gasp*…..old monk…
Old monk…. LMFAO… 😀 😀 😀
yes, thats what i meant. Thanks for the info.
It does seem that PAK-FA is compromising a lot on stealth.
hehe… okay, i meant PAK-FA.
Probably an old question… why are the flankers & flanker-ski engines not painted?
No paint means no RAM on them.
Obligatory, you can see putty (gap filler) on this pic of the Rafale.

^What is that thing popping up above the engines while the J20 is on the ground?
I actually have this feeling that the French while perhaps having the best product in Rafale, really suck at negotiating these deals.
I think they are just too greedy and try to peddle over priced products which need putty to fill gaps.
Would be funny if UAE also picked up EF.
Aircraft-carrier launch delayed by few weeks
http://www.tribuneindia.com/2011/20111111/nation.htm#3
…. There has been a delay in the amalgamation of some critical components on board the 40,000 tonne aircraft carrier, said sources.
….
One of the reasons for the delay is the final fitment of the four General Electric-supplied LM 2500 engines. ….
yep, the article has other errors too.
To boot, the IAF is a primary customer for the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter and weaponized Dhruv helicopter.
Its the Army which is the primary customer. Army ordered 115 LCH vs 60 odd LCH for IAF and army also ordered 110+ weaponized Dhruvs.
WAPJ 35 had 1/7th Su-27, 1/5th F/A-18, 1/3rd Rafale (yea I know, okay!).
Gives generic Flanker at 7.7 m2, 5 m2 for MiG-29 and F/A-18, and 3m2 for Rafale (okay leave me alone! ).
Peter, its best you run to a cave asap before bluewings and associates see this.
PS: Thanks for the info, but where did this article appear? Any link?
While on the heli topic… Indian Navy will probably buy the NH90 as Seakings replacements.

Fennec looks like a nice little chopper. Would be a nice addition to the indian armed forces.

Hot Dawg, Dhruv is a quite a lot bigger than the Alouette II/III which need replacement. There is another ongoing HAL programme for a light helicopter in the same category but only God knows when that will be completed. So for now a ready-made imported product is required.
