Scooter, how about CVF for Japan?
It is hard to take your claims seriously when you insist that the majority of defence journalists are substandard.
Sorry, but its true. If you read articles about indian defense programs or watch their shows in English, Hindi or other native Indian language EVERYDAY like some of us do, then you will notice how pathetic most indian defence journalists are.
Sure, there are a few good ones, but most are pretty bad.
Wasnt the SRSAM recently agreed upon / contracted between GoI and French?
It was mentioned to be a $6 billion program.

Also, what is the difference between PDV and PAD? I didnt know there was a new missile under development for Phase 1 BMD.
Thanks a bunch.

What… no Super Hornet? :p
This is completely ridiculous. Just forget the UAE deal damnit. We are going to win very few money with that deal (or even lose some as in the Leclerc deal), and Dassault doesn’t really need it, as most of its activity is centered about the civilian market & it already just bagged the Indian deal.
Just make a “take it or leave it” offer to the UAE and be done with it. If they don’t take it then fine go buy the Typhoon.

+1. No point trying to sell a few Rafales for zero gain or loss to the Arabs.
Only sell to countries allied to India 😀
Why doesnt US buy one of the dirt cheap chinese trainers?
HAL – LUH (light utility heli).
LUH will get all the orders.
Why are there a lot of ‘indigenous’ indian military programmes that claim to be such, but are in fact ‘collaborations’ with foreign firms? In those pics of the TATA ‘developed’ SPG, they claim it’s ‘indigenous’, but then actually have a photo showing the South African workers from Denel, which actually developed the gun?! So how come Denel wasn’t blacklisted?
We are going way off topic, so i will just give you a one liner answer. Tata is a private company and they HAVE mentioned that they collaborated with a foreign company while developing the gun.
Open a thread in general discussion forum if you want to discuss any further.
… or be unable to buy essential equipment because there’s no supplier that isn’t blacklisted.
Thats what happened to the army’s artillery program. Nearly everyone got blacklisted.
So Tata has come up with a truck mounted SPG and I hope they get all the orders (about 700 pieces initially).

I am hoping this latest scam doesnt affect the Rafale deal since there are some major allegations.
India Freezes Payment for AgustaWestland Helos
So basically, the purchase order for the remaining 9 aircraft has been canceled. Once again, Indian taxpayers have to suffer the consequences of corrupt individuals.
I wonder who will Augusta Westland sell those hellos to now as it will be black listed.
MOD will have to re-issue a VVIP helo RFP and most probably the Americans are going to win it this time (for 9 hellos).

PS: BDF pilots are trained by Indian Air Force so the common trainer plane would make things easier.
