And you should know young lady!!

Aviation wise, I will always remember coming back from Coningsby – him in the Yak leading me in the Pitts in a very tight formation, I didn’t take my eye off YAKO for one second – he called “smoke on!” then soon after “smoke off!”

Turns out it was very naughty of him…

Ask him about it, I wonder if he remembers… 😎

??????????   Are you mental Big Nose or what! 😀

    DBW & Mike J,

Swordfish’s in 1995 and the Queen Mum’s funeral bash were some time ago, and I believe that things may have changed since then. Maybe I should have written: “flypasts by single engined piston aircraft (Spitfire, Huirricane etc) are not permitted anymore“. You certainly won’t be seeing any single-engined civilian aircraft doing flypasts over London anymore.

I shall be watching this flypast from a far more exciting vantage point and won’t be able to claim my drink on the day, but you can put my beer ‘in the pipe’ 😀

Still bet you a certain Lancaster is accompanied by two single engined piston fighters!

Any Military flypast will be flown to Military rules, and I believe that although RAFAT have and do fly over London, flypasts by single engined piston aircraft (Spitfire, Huirricane etc) are not permitted.

So how do you explain the Lancaster and two Spitfires over the Mall for the Queen Mothers funeral cortege then?

In fact they can with special permission I believe.

And just for the record, I don’t recall calling you a DUMB YANK, however I do resent the implication that the presumption that the Canadian Lanc was coming, was taken from friendly banter between myself, the pilot and engineer.
    Fluffy

I say Fluffy, calm down, everyone knows the Yanks won the war without us :diablo:

As for Dumb Yank, how could anyone even think that with the perfect spelling
and grammar his post exhibits! 😮

On the 7th March i will be flying to Poland then train to Belarus to visit my love Lena and spend my Birthday with her.
I am looking forward to this trip greatly and will see much of the country with Lena, I have known Lena for 6 years and started off as pen pals love blossomed over time and after 2 failed engagements i realised Lena was there all the time i feel it be a honour to see her country.
Have any of you been to Belarus? If yes what did you see?.

I went to Belarus last year to visit some girl, I think she was called Lena:dev2: Just kidding honest!

Why did the other two engagements fail? Wasn’t because your were writing to other Women was it? 🙂

Got this emailed to me from two independant sources today…
Haven’t some people got better things to occupy their time?

    Flood

I strongly object to that picture,

Horses are fine, noble looking animals. What has that poor animal done to deserve to be compared with CPB?

I think she should be queen then we have a captain for the British Olympic minging team.

If this turns into another slanging fest then this will be closed also 🙂

Deano was probably right to close it, R had succeded in winding people up again and everyone was whipping up into a feeding frenzy.

I think that the Instructor, Ron, (I haven’t met him by the way) is getting a bit of a slamming from several people here. If he did what R is indicating then rightly so but it has been mentioned that R may just make a mountain out of a mole hill.

What I would suggest to bring this to a close is this,

We know the airfield, date, rough time (it was the second from last flight at that school), type of aircraft involved, name of the instructor (who also apparently owns the school) and other details from R’s posts.

I suggest that a local forum member drops into the school and talks to Ron, then ATC and get their take on the incident. Failing that someone could ring them or at the last resort I may be up there on business in about 10 days and I’ll drop in.

That should sort things out and clear this poor instructors name as I suspect it is a case of ‘student talk’

    What do you all think?

I think BBMF Lancaster will have Spitfire and Hurricane with it, isn’t there a Meteor or two about?
