I tried to look at a few of the threads on Wayback Machine but all it says is that that page hasn’t been archived. It would be nice if we could access all those threads.
It looks great though – Key as it used to be – sadly missed!
The main reason I sweat my 40 missing posts, Bob, is that I suspect the threads they pertained to have totally disappeared too! I’m sure Duxford Diary is not alone in doing a vanishing act!
Same for me re. the posts count, Laurence and I lost 40 posts in the change to the new forum too. I know this because I was fast approaching the 1000 post milestone and had only 5 more posts to go. So from having 995 posts I dropped to 955 and have now been “stuck” on 961 for the last 2 weeks or more. Frustrating but a minor complaint I suppose compared to all the other problems with the current forum.
I do fear they are hoping we will stop complaining and just accept our lot eventually.
Hello Nev,
Thanks for the info re. WA903. Unfortunately I haven’t discovered anything more regarding what happened to it after Taymouth but if I do I’ll post the info on here. ORB not required but thank you for the offer 🙂
Could be that American Aviation Co. were dealers for National Aeronautical Corp (narco) radios. Narco were marketing a Mark 12 in Feb 1964 –
Agreed, Laurence. It really isn’t brilliant but unfortunately it’s all we’ve got presently!
I see what you mean about the Posts count too.
Hello again. Laurence. Glad you spotted my reply! The quote function was giving me all sorts of grief last night (so I’m not trying it this time) and, as you say, there is no notification of a reply to subscribed posts either.
When I searched your name the first few pages of results were indeed Lawrence of Arabia in the main but after page 6 more of your old posts appear. It’s far from an easy way to search them and nothing like what we had previously. It’s very random – neither in chronological or alphabetical order and with other people’s posts in between but it’s the only way I’ve found of accessing any of our old stuff. It’s ridiculous!
This is what I get and you can then click on the title to take you to the old thread – I see we’ve lost Preview now too so hopefully the attachment is attached!
Try searching laurence, Laurence 🙂
I’ve just tried and hey presto! There will be other threads in there too but I can see a lot of yours especially from Page 6 onwards. I think it’s something to do with how permalinks (?) are written?
That’s a pity, Lyffe. I’d like to say it’s strange how it works for one person but not another but I think there’s a few things like that on the forum at present!
Excellent work! She looks beautiful 🙂
I find I can access my old threads and others I’ve contributed to by searching my user name. Worth a try when you’re signed in, Laurence. It doesn’t seem to work otherwise.
Lovely thanks! Nice to hear she’s not been forgotten. Look forward to hearing your updates on her progress 🙂
And according to Marine.gov.scot the cause was unknown and two soldier passengers were killed with him. Date here given as 26th June 1942.

According to Aircrew Remembered he was listed as Missing Presumed Killed in Swordfish W5924 in the Pentland Firth –

Please could they fix it by migrating everything else back to join it? Please 🙂
Thanks, Khalem. I suspect there might be a few errors in the maths. At least this one gave me a laugh –
