Non-sense.
Non-sense again.
Non-sense three times.
Chinese are literally decades behind the West in avionics; this is according to foreign customers of Chinese weapons like Pakistan.
Wow, Mr slowman again. Our Korean friend who not only can eyeball RCS of J-20 and predict STOL abilities of Y-20 with a single grainy photo, now also knows more about the AWAC and its abilities than the designer himself. Is there something Mr slowman can not do? 😀
you are okay, you didn’t make such a claim. cannot say the same about your compatriots such as this loony in this thread
http://forum.keypublishing.com/showpost.php?p=1217633&postcount=37
no one was talking to you to begin with…
Someone’s definitely a loony here……
Hehe good job quantum, I delibrately only posted that one pic to see what Mr. knowitall has to say, thanks for posting the close ups. :diablo:
Hui Tong must be going blind, there’s no pink, yellow, or green in that picture.
nor do the Vietnamese use such a paint.. Charlies only use the standard Russian style blue or the Ugandan doo doo brown.
Just because you haven’t seen the pic of Chinese flankers in yellow and green makes huitong blind? How laughable.
Photo taken today over three gorge dams. Obviously huitong is blind, right?
Hasn’t posted in ages, but Hotdog you disappoint me in actually bothering to link that piece of garbage here:
Pinkov is mixing up different events, then using his imagination to create “News” again.
J-11B had problems with WS-10A and that was no secret. In 2008, the delivery of 20 or so J-11B from SAC to PLAAF was canceled, after one pre-delivery J-11B had single mid air engine failure, losing blades and half the turbine stages got ejected from the tail. At the same time, the 1st J-11BS twin seat J-11B prototype under testing also crashed due to engine fan blade failure of WS-10A. Photos of engine less J-11B awaiting fix of the WS-10A sitting on the aprons in Shenyang were available in 2009. You can find them here as well.
However, around Oct-Nov 2009, muiltiple articles showing that WS-10A fan blade problems had been fixed are released, and from Dec 2009 onwards, photos of WS-10A equipped J-11B in PLAAF units in pre-delivery flights and training flights over Shenyang and surrounding areas are also seen.
Typical Kanwa though: outdated “news” with half fetched “sources” as always.
Ahh, what is even more remarkable that this comedian pretending to be a red flag pilot has been taken seriously by someone. 😀
….the F-15 guy was really excelent…..Tumanskyi engines put in Sukhoi MKI are susceptible to FOD, bcs they took off in 1min intervals…..
Geeez, I was crying from laughing so hard during his show.
Haven’t posted for a long time but this comment here just makes me comment: Before you discredit someone, isn’t it best to find out who they are first?
This “comedian” pretending to be a “pilot” as you mention had been identified as Colonel Terrence Fornof, Director of the Requirements and Testing office at the United States Air Force Warfare Center, Nellis AFB, Nevada, and is a F-15 pilot to boot. Unless of course you are even higher ranked or more experience pilot than him?
Cobrato, you are both over estimating and underestimating the control Chinese government exercise over these people who take photos.
If you check the Chinese BBS regularly, there are only so many regular contributers, and they always gets unprecedented access to equipments and have terrific equipment to take these shots.
The photos are these days all watermarked with thier names and sometimes even QQ address to them.
Even if some of the photos are not leaked intentionally, those phototakers all IMO have been contacted by AA (GuoAn) people who let them know which photos can be released and which can’t.
That is why for example even there were at least 5-6 “regulars” present during 054A launch in each instance, and apart from a single very shacky video from a cell phone, there were zero photos release of them while during the launch off the slipways or from the dock. Only before launch and after launch photos.
On another note, the Chinese BBS is now going to watermark the words 允许平克夫盗用 (Pinkov allowed to steal this pic) on new photos lol. Talk about quick minds.
Pinkov had gone absolutely balistic over this:
http://www.kanwa.com/mrdt/showpl.php?id=494
To all non-chinese readers, he is just saying that from now on, any photo with “No PKF: on it, he will use and not pay for them.
All sounds gung-ho, only two questions from my point of view though.
One: I am pretty sure its still against intellectual laws to use photos without authorization.
Two: Since when had he paid for any of the photos he had copied off Chinese BBS?
Still, another small source of amusement on this glorious national day. :diablo:
The pic of WZ-10 is also taken from under the wing of a J-10. Might be from a internal National Day exhibition of some sort? Also note the new HJ-10? ATGM under the wing pylons.
Hyper: trust me, its real. When more than 10 big-shrimps all say its real, its real. 🙂
As to why the pic is shown in Photoshop, the reason is no one actually has the original atm. The copy we have is from magazine scans. And of course u need PS to crop it a bit after scanning.
There you go, the real deal. 093 at dock:
Ya that was me. Because given the way PLA ususally declassifies its equipments, it is ususally a few years after entering service when the equipment is released. Original rumours on AshBM was started back in 97-8 or so, and back in 2002-3 there were already rumours of it entering service. Though they can’t be confirmed, the timing seems right for a release now.
The guilding fins and extended nose cone also seems to fit the descriptions on how such an AshBM would work.
Also, right now would be a good time to reveal this piece to discourage and adventurism from a certain party which could cause situations before the 2008 Olympics.
Hyperwarp, that helmet according to the label is the new standard issue for rotary wing pilots. Made from polymer material with carbon fibre components, it is NVG compatable and also includes anti-glare visor.
So? It is demonstrating a A-G load. 1 nav/laser pod plus full load of bombs for the task. Why would you need to carry bvr-aam when you are conducting A-G missions? What is your escorts doing?
Carry BVR-AAM is not a nessersity on such a mission. Just wasted pylons and dead-weight if your escort do their jobs right and sweep the air for you.
