Wow so much goodies on show on the 80th aniiversary of PLA exhibition!
DF-15 Anti ship version, Type-93 SSN that looks like trafalgar/LA instead of the speculated russian SSN, and the following goodies for the PLAAF:
Note the lengthened nose cone and the fins on the warhead section of the DFs shown in the last pics. This shows terminal guidiance and control. Maybe this is the anti ship version everyone first laughed about, now talked about?
A 600kg warhead, even with no explosives crashing into your ship’s deck at Mach 6+ is going to hurt. A lot.
Hey Hydropod! You posted something about a dancing girl at CDF. Care to elaborate?! π
Haha Hyoerwarp, it was quite obvious wasn’t it? Pinko already did a good summary on it right next post.
Dance routine= manuvourablity, (howerver I am not too sure about PiLi legs, since note that all Chinese AAMs are PiLi-XX eg PL-8, PL-12 etc, so maybe a new missile too?)
Professional vocal techniques: well that is not the best translation I admit, the ambiguity of the word ηΎε£°ε±ζ³ is just not there. It points to “Amercian” style stealth chracteristcs. (ηΎalso = Amercica, see?:) )
2004 TaiPei performance: Confirmation of the rumours that J-10 took part in confrontations over Taiwan Strait in 2004.
Cooperation with co-dancers: Improvements in net-centric warfare and better cooperation with supporting AWACS and other assets.
Sings in foreign language: I actually didn’t quite get this one myself either π
2008 album called “stealth lover”: The long rumoured J-10C or Super-10
Beef cooked with potatos: Chinese name for goulash, ie also a nickname for the good-old socialist brother SU, which these days means Russia, so russian engines.
Chinese made niutritional foods: Obvious now huh?
Concerts in South Asia: Rumoured sales to Pakistan.
That is all that I picked up, and I wonder how many I missed. π
Memorial photo of the crashed Kj-200….
So instead of the estimated 8 X C 803, it might be actually carrying 4-8 YJ-62s? Massive ouch and a big clout for such a small ship.
You really think Russia would be willing to give up Moscow etc. because they lost a few rockets?
This question work both ways you know. You really think US would be willing to give up Los Angeles etc because they want to kill a few rockets? That is the unpredictability noone want to take blames for.
That is because the one inboard is actually 054A, (hull 3 of the 054 series if you want to call it that way). That however is a great pic showing the similarities and differences between a 054 and 054A
When I read up to the part when he started to detail the balsa model with metal sheeting, it was already impressive enough for me. I was sitting there thinking: WOW a fully detailed 1:6 model of a Flanker, then he started to make moulds and indicate a flying model, I just went down on me knees, this guys is beyond impressive, its insane! (/kowtow)
Consider how much of a gap exists between the N001E and the Type-1473, and the RCS side of flanker compared to the much smaller J-10, I guess the J-10 has a definitive advantage in BVR engagement and enjoyed much better situational awareness which is what the PLA daily article seemed to imply.
And if anyone asks where tphuang got the 10:1 figure from, its from the PLA daily. In 4 seperate 2 J-10 vs 4 Su-27 encounters, J-10 managed to look first shoot first in all encounters, and managed a combined total of 1:13.
Im so loathed to say it but I reckon the J-10 is a nice lookin aircraft, the Dinks have steped up to the plate big time with the J-10,along with the Flanker the Gooks are really a force to be reckoned with now,bet Taiwan is looking across the Staits with a worried look on their face
Had a quiet read all along and sudddenly some half ass jumps in and totally ruins whatever is left in the thread. Must be so proud of the Kiwi public education system to be able to string 2 derogatory racist words into a single sentence hey?
Go back to your sheep.
The reason why all the new pic u see are watermarked is because they don’t want PKF to use them.
The people from Jane’s need to learn how to read properly. The sign at Zhuhai is QW-IB and QW-II. Where the hell did QW-18 and 11 come from?
Quick translation:
Q-5D: Entered service around mid-90s, as an update on the older models. Improved avionics including laser rangefinder/HUD attack and navigation systems designed by institute 613. The system include ALR-1 laser rangefinder and QHK-10 HUD systems. A “bulge” is added on the nose of the airframe to accomodate the new avionics. Also Q-5D are painted olive green unlike the white/natural metal finish on the older models.
(red notes: Q-5D of PLAAF, painted olive green but with red numbers)
Q-5J Two seater: First flight on 28/2/2005, it is the newest model in Q-5 family. Built as dedicated trainers for Q-5, as JJ-6 which were used for training Q-5 pilots are retired. Older Q-5 can be modified into Q-5J.
(red notes: Q-5J modified from Q-5 no. 145, added seat and canopy now swings to the right to open. Also extended vertical stabiliser to improve stability)
Q-5 Special Models:
Q-5 LGB trial aircraft: can carry 2 500kg LGBs
Q-5 Optical system pod trial aircraft: carries external avionics pod on starboard foward belly hard point.
Q-5 “special system” trial aircraft: “special” system carried half-buried on centreline bomb bay.
Q-5 radar system trial aircraft: Nose of plane modified to carry radar.
Most likely to be C-701 over C-802. 50kg warhead is more consistent with the damage to the ship. C-802’s 165kg warhead would have ripped the corvette in half no matter where it had hit.
